🎣 LEARN TO FISH AT NUTBROOK CANAL

Fancy having a go at fishing but don’t know where to start?

Stanton Fishing Club is hosting a beginner-friendly Let’s Fish! event at Nutbrook Canal in Ilkeston on Saturday 29 August.

Professionally qualified and licensed angling coaches will teach participants the basics, including using fishing tackle, baiting a hook, recognising bites and safely landing and unhooking fish.

All bait, equipment, permits and the required fishing licence will be provided, so you don’t need to own any fishing gear.

📅 Saturday 29 August
⏰ One-hour sessions between 9am and 4.30pm
📍 Nutbrook Canal, Ilkeston
👨‍👩‍👧 Open to adults and children aged six and over
🎟 £5 per participant, plus booking fee

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each person wishing to fish needs a separate ticket booked in their own name, and advance booking is required.

Stanton Fishing Club was established in 1881 and manages several local fishing waters, including Nutbrook Canal.
