🐶 HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS 🐶☀️

As temperatures rise, please remember that if the ground feels hot to your hand… it is FAR too hot for your dog’s paws ❤️

Dogs do not cope with heat the same way humans do. Heatstroke can happen incredibly fast and can become fatal.

🚫 General guidance:• Under 20°C – Usually safe for most dogs with caution• 20–23°C – Use care, avoid long walks and midday heat• 24–27°C – Dangerous for many dogs, especially flat-faced breeds, older dogs, overweight dogs & puppies• 28°C+ – Avoid walks completely

🐾 Things to think about:✔️ Walk early morning or late evening✔️ Check pavement temperature with the back of your hand for 5 seconds✔️ Always carry water✔️ Avoid excessive ball throwing in heat✔️ Provide shade and cooling areas✔️ Never leave dogs in cars — even for a few minutes✔️ Watch for signs of heatstroke:

Excessive panting

Drooling

Vomiting

Wobbling

Bright red gums

Collapse

Some days your dog genuinely does NOT need a walk. Mental enrichment at home, sniff games, frozen treats and calm activities are far safer than risking overheating.

Your dog would rather miss one walk than suffer heatstroke 💛

Please keep an eye on vulnerable dogs during this warm weather and check in on elderly neighbours who may need support with their pets too 🐕☀️
