🐾 Pooch’s Yard – Community Trust
“Help Without Judgement”

At the heart of Pooch’s Yard – Doggy Day Care has always been a simple promise: to care for dogs and their owners and to build a family, where everyone is welcome.

For over 8 years, we’ve been more than just a day care. Behind the scenes we’ve stepped in wherever and whenever help was needed, providing food and bedding, supporting the homeless and their pets, offering behavioural and wellbeing advice, helping with rehoming, and even covering urgent vet bills. Always freely, always with love & always without judgement.

Why? Because we CARE. Because no dog should go hungry, cold, or unloved. And no owner should ever feel ashamed to ask for help.

But as times get harder and the cost of living rises, the need for support is growing. That’s why we’ve created Pooch’s Yard – Community Trust, a way for our caring community of dog lovers to come together and make sure no one faces these challenges alone.

🐶 How You Can Help?
We gratefully welcome donations of:
- Dog food (wet, dry, or raw — opened food accepted if still in original packaging)
- Treats, bedding & toys (safe & in good condition)
- Non-prescribed medication (flea & worming treatments, supplements)

We also accept monetary donations (of which 100% goes directly to emergency care and vet bills)

📍 Donations can be dropped at:Pooch’s Yard – Doggy Day Care LTD1 Telford Way, Thetford, IP24 1HU

With your help from the money raised from Pooch's Yard - Doggy Day Care puppy morning we were able to get Rodney castrated to help get rid of those hormones to help with his training in regards to his aggressive tendencies. We’ve seen a massive change in him and it’s lovely to see how far he’s come since!

Another forever home found!

Here we have one of the happiest go lucky dogs we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, Archie is a Labrador x Spaniel and was only 9 months old when he was handed over to us, his owners couldn’t cope with his high energy and through this he had bitten his previous owners.

Archie stayed with us for a short time in which he had a vet appointment, food, training and new bedding. With the help of a local dog boarding facility who knew of a lovely family nearby who were looking for another dog to join their home, Archie soon landed on his paws!

Archie is now loved and settled into his new and forever home 🏡 and with your help more dogs like Archie can find a home that suits their needs.

Previous Re-Home!

Just look at this sweet little Jack Russell, this is Poppy and unfortunately she was very suddenly handed over to doggy day care when she was just 1 years old. Her older owners claimed she was overly dominant and aggressive towards them, not house trained and reactive on a lead towards other people and dogs! Her then owners were on their way to the vets to talk about putting her to sleep when they drove past the day care and thought maybe they could help.

Thankfully Poppy was taken in and cared for and it wasn’t long before she started gaining attention from potential homes. Her behaviours were misunderstood and she was displaying typical puppy signs of development and growth. After much consideration, interviews and back ground searches Poppy was placed into a home that could provide her with lots of love, attention and walks, she’s still in this home and loving her new life and thankfully, was not put to sleep!

Poppy is just one of the thousands of dogs in the uk, near to being put to sleep for being misunderstood, or abandoned and left to die.

Help us, Help them!
Please consider donating to our cause and to aid us in continuing our work to protect all dogs from maltreatment, cruelty and neglect.

Previous Re-Home!

Here we have Toto, Originally handed over for some training but his owners decided that their lives could no longer suit his needs and requirements (This is unfortunately the case sometimes)

Toto was given positive corrective behavioural training back in July of 2022 and he successfully passed with great changes and he is now living with a wonderful family.

At the time, Toto’s care that included, food, training, veterinary appointments and medications were funded by ourselves at the time, his new owners funded his neutering which was a huge help, with your donations cases like this in the future and the ones we’re currently facing can have similar outcomes.

Your donations can go a long way into saving dogs like Toto from being without a family to snuggle with at night!

Please donate 🙏🏼

What we do and why we ask you to support us!

Here we have Rodney, a very young beagle puppy that was due to be PTS (put to sleep) due to his extreme and very serious aggression and reactivities towards humans. We were contacted through social media to see if we could help him before it was too late! As our slogan says… ‘Our door is always open’ and we truly mean it, we’ve taken Rodney on and under our care and guidance we aim to turn Rodney around. Our behaviourist team know his aggression comes from fear so it’s fixable, after all there’s no bad dogs!

Why do we need your help?
Unfortunately this isn’t the only case we’re dealing with and any donations will go towards providing food and supplements to feed Rodney, It will pay for behavioural training and the relevant tools to aid his training and we also aim to Neuter Rodney so when he is eventually ready for rehoming he is re-homed for the correct reasons.

Your donations going forward can help towards all the dogs that end up in our care, from supplying bedding, food all the way through to supporting with veterinary care, our aim is to help all dogs that come to our door whatever the issue.

Please dig deep and if possible donate, anything whether it be little or large will go along way and appreciated by all!
