🤩 Does anyone have an old mud kitchen lying around that they’d like to get rid of?

We’re looking for one for our Forest School area!

We’ve made a start of clearing an area today for a vegetable patch, and more!

Huge thank you to the kids for helping us carry the most random items and Laura for clearing the old play park, and then sorting the old cabin out!

Were a team on a mission at the moment 💪🏼

We are on the lookout for a couple of ponies to join our herd.

Our ponies want for nothing, they are not treated like work horses, they are treated like your everyday family pet.

We offer a mix of turn out and stabling, making sure that every pony gets a mix of both all year round. They are worked no more than 2 hours per day and 3/4 days a week, with 3 days off.

We are looking for approximately 3 horses between 12.2 and 15.2h who are aged 5 upwards.

Whilst we’re willing to take some quirks, we can’t take anything that rears. A small leg up in the air type buck would be considered if it wasn’t malicious.

Health conditions are also considered as we can look after and treat management of this - providing it’s disclosed.

Generally we’re looking for 3 nice ponies that have good temperaments but perhaps you’re struggling to afford or have a rider gone off to college etc.

I’d like an initial 3-6 month loan and then would take on longer term if both parties are happy.

We also possess a 5 star riding licence and have physios, farrier, dentists etc here on a scheduled regular basis for all horses.

We come with an array of references from current / previous owners whom loan to us, including vets and so on.

Our Home Education Riding & Learning Sessions have been so popular that we’re expanding! 🎉

👉 From Term 2 onwards, sessions will now run on both:
- Mondays
- Thursdays

And for families who’d like to attend both days, we’re offering a special discounted rate when you book for the full term. 💙

These sessions are a fantastic way for home educated children to:

✅ Learn riding skills in a fun, structured environment
✅ Build confidence around horses with hands-on stable activities
✅ Make friends and enjoy the outdoors

🚨 Thinking about where you or your child learn to ride? Here’s what you need to know…

We often see adverts on Facebook where people are offering “lessons” on their own ponies or looking for riders when someone feels they’ve “outgrown” a riding school.

What many don’t realise is this:

👉 If someone gives you even ONE riding lesson on their horse, they legally need:
- A council-issued riding school licence
- A vet check
- Insurance

Without these, they are breaking the law, and more importantly, putting riders at risk.

We also meet new riders who have left other
yards due to worrying practices such as:

❌ Instructors smoking in the arena
❌ Children being shouted at or dragged off ponies
❌ Poor safeguarding

At Hundleby Equestrian Centre, smoking is banned anywhere past our gates 🚭, and we take safeguarding seriously. Everyone
deserves to feel safe while learning to ride.

✅ All our staff hold:
- Enhanced DBS checks
- First Aid training
- Safeguarding training
- Relevant equestrian qualifications

And Siân, who runs the yard, is a BHS Stage 3 Coach, on the BHS Accredited Professional Coach Register and the Pony Club register, having gone through the necessary checks and approvals to do so.

Whether you choose to ride with us or somewhere else, please check your yard:

- Is it licensed (and ideally 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)?
- Are they insured?
- Are staff first-aid trained?
- Is smoking prohibited?
- Do you and your child feel safe?

Horses are amazing teachers but only in the right environment. Please make sure your riding school puts safety, legality, and welfare first. We aren’t saying we’re the best and to ride with us, but please make sure where you are riding and learning is operating correctly 🐴💙

We had a lovely message from Charlie’s mum this week and she’s very kindly let us share her photos and message!

When we get a text like this, it genuinely makes our days and sessions seem so worth it and cements why we do what we do, and why I want to strive to do more and be better 🙌

“I just want to say the tots stay and play have been so good for Charlie and what a great job you’re doing getting the little ones involved. Charlie is an SEN child and he’s only 2.5 so keeping him engaged is hard and he’s loving it so much. ♥️ well done and thank you for offering them opportunities like this x”

🎃 Have you seen our Halloween events? 🎃

You asked for a Forest School event and we’re happy to announce our first one in the October holidays! 🍁

Our sessions are SEND inclusive and parents are welcome to stay at these two sessions! 🫶🏼

These sessions are ran by a primary school teacher and all staff members are DBS checked, first aid trained and hold safeguarding requirements.

If you are bringing a child with additional needs please just pop it on the booking so we know to have additional staff members but parents can stay at these sessions.

Absolutely thrilled to announce we now have a Stage 3 coach on site 🥳

This will now open many doors for us as a business and allow us to offer a wider range of lessons and services ⭐️

✨ Big news and a proud moment to share! ✨

Three weeks ago, I sat my BHS Stage 3 Coaching exam… and I’m so delighted to say I passed! 🎉🐴

This journey started in an unexpected way. A while back, I read a negative comment online on some kids social media about my teaching. Alongside a fellow riding school using the fact I wasn’t BHS qualified as their marketing tool when people called.

Despite years of experience, it really ate away at me that I wasn’t qualified and I felt a huge sense of imposter syndrome.

But then, when I was made redundant from my corporate role, I decided it was time to stop doubting myself and just go for it - to get qualified and prove to myself that I could.

The exam itself wasn’t easy. I was given a horse in the cross-country section who was known for refusing fences. It was a real test of my coaching and under pressure too, but it actually worked in my favour as we all know I’m used to dealing with Ziggys “no’s!” - the horse finished jumping a lovely course and the examiner commented I really should consider going to Stage 4 rather quickly as she thought I was more than capable.

That vote of confidence means the world 🥹

Becoming a Stage 3 Instructor not only strengthens what we can offer through the riding school, but also opens so many new doors 🤞🏼

There aren’t many schools with a Stage 3 instructor on-site at all times, and I feel really proud of what that means for us and the potential growth opportunities over the next 12 months as a business. I won’t stop until we’re the best I believe we can be!

Looking ahead, I’ll also be taking on some freelance coaching both for individuals and groups, including pony clubs, while I continue my own journey towards Stage 4.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me on this path, including my current clients who have let me use them as guinea pigs, and to my horses for making me strive to continuously be and do better to advocate for their needs!

This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both the riding school and me personally! 💫🐎
