This morning we gathered and the familiar voice of Kenny Rogers welcomed us in chapel. His words
echoed a philosophy that todays gentleman seemed to carry quietly through his life. A gentle man who was a lock keeper on the canals and a lover or Trolls. With other chosen music and memories his service was full of personal stories to capture the heart.

Thank you Phillip and all the team for your excellent care.

“She was like a diamond forged under pressure, brilliant, unbreakable and full of light. Every facet of her told a story: of laughter, grit; of love and survival. She was an Angel”

What an incredible honour to have been able to share her story. Thank you Phillip and all the team for your excellent care and support.

When parents die, life is never the same. No matter our age, we lose the safe haven of their love. Their hugs, their soothing words, their constant presence — all gone, leaving a silence that echoes deeply. We are no longer just children; we become orphans in a world that suddenly feels colder and harder. Even with our own families, the longing remains. Their faces, voices, and love are etched in us forever. Deep inside, the child we once were still yearns for their protection, comfort, and warmth — a love that once felt eternal but is now only memory.

Celebrating a life honestly!

"I believe in angels, something good in everything I see."

Today’s service for a man, truly stuck with me!! He never wanted to get to 70 and he died on the morning of his birthday.

He wasn't a man who minced his words. He lived life on his own terms, without any pretense or sugar-coating; and in that rare honesty, there was something undeniably good, a piece of his heart that he shared with those lucky enough to know him. He was unique and his story fetched many a smile.

Thank you Adrian and all the team at Bensons Funeral Service for your excellent care and support.

This afternoon I had the honour of celebrating the life of a true pocket rocket! At just 5'2", she was a loving and feisty woman who always stood up for her family.

She had a heart of pure gold and took immense pride in her home, where she lived for over 65 years. Her mantra, "a tidy home equals a tidy mind," was a beautiful reflection of the care and dedication she put into everything she did.

An honour to work alongside Adrian and all the team at Bensons Funeral Service. Thank you for your exceptional care and support.

This morning was a powerful reminder of how unique each life is. It was a privilege to help friends and family say farewell to a lady who knew exactly what she wanted.

By working closely together, we wove her story into a beautiful tribute, which along with carefully chosen music, and her great-granddaughter sharing some words everything came together perfectly.

An honour to work alongside Krystle and all the team at D Walsh & Son Funeral Directors. Thank you for your excellent care.

Today at Huddersfield Crematorium, we shared the story of a much loved man who was cheerful and happy, where a song or a whistle chased away the blues. Until of course the whistling got on your nerves where a gentle affectionate “shush,” was a signal for silence. He was young at heart and he was the kind of man who made you feel welcome.

Thank you Darren and all the team for your excellent care and support. It was a privilege to be his chosen celebrant.

My commitment is to provide deeply meaningful and personal services. This begins with our initial conversation, which I believe is best held face-to-face whenever possible. Meeting you allows for an open and heartfelt discussion, allowing me to understand the unique life of your loved one and shape a service that truly honours their memory.

I understand that in-person meetings aren't always feasible. If you're located elsewhere in the country or overseas, I'm more than happy to arrange a virtual meeting via Zoom or WhatsApp, alternatively we will work closely via email.

I don’t believe that this important conversation should be rushed. I dedicate time to listen to your stories and get to know the person you’ve lost. This unhurried approach helps me understand the desired tone for the service and ensure that every detail is tailored to your family's needs. My goal is to craft a bespoke service from start to finish as individual and unique as your loved one. I am certainly not a same script fits all celebrant.

My role throughout this process is to be patient, supportive and understanding. Having undertaken extensive training over the years, I am proud to be the highest qualified celebrant in the North of England.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would simply like to talk.
