It’s lovely to have some cooler weather today, making things much more comfortable for both the ponies and our team. 💚

We’re looking forward to another busy day at the yard filled with happy children, pony cuddles and lots of fun! 🥰

💙 A Very Special Retirement Announcement for Dan 💙🐴

After many wonderful years, our lovely Dan is now fully retiring from all riding work.

Dan has given so much to us over the years, especially to Danielle and then Chloe. He certainly wasn’t always the easiest and taught every rider who sat on him plenty of patience—haha! 😂 But that was all part of his character, and he has helped so many children and adults build confidence and create special memories. 🥰

At 19 years young, Dan will now enjoy the peaceful retirement he thoroughly deserves, spending his days relaxing in the field, being pampered and receiving all the love and care he needs.

He isn’t going anywhere—he’ll always be a very special member of the Shelly Equine family. 💙

Thank you for everything, Dan. Enjoy your retirement, beautiful boy! 🐴🌿

💚 FREE PONY DAY SPACES — FUNDED BY EASYFUNDRAISING! 💚🐴

Thanks to the amazing support we’ve received through easyfundraising, we’re delighted to give something back to our local community. ❤️

We have four completely FREE Pony Day spaces available—one on each date:

🐴 Tuesday 18th August
🐴 Thursday 20th August
🐴 Tuesday 25th August
🐴 Friday 28th August

📍 These spaces are available to children living locally within the DH4 area only.

Our Pony Days give children the opportunity to spend time at the yard, care for the ponies, learn new skills and enjoy lots of fun activities. 🐴🥰

📩 To apply, please message our page with:

* Your child’s age
* Your postcode
* Your preferred date

Please only apply if your family genuinely needs a funded space, so they can reach local children who will benefit most. ❤️

Successful applicants will be chosen and contacted on Sunday teatime.

We’re planning a brilliant Fun Show & Fun Day at Shelly Equine Assisted Therapy, with lots happening throughout the day for the whole family.

Our second-hand stall will be raising funds towards our next exciting venture for Shelly Equine Assisted Therapy CIC. 💚 Every purchase will help us continue developing what we can offer our children, young people and community.

🐴💚 FRIDAY AT SHELLY EQUINE 💚🐴

Happy Friday everyone! 🥰

We’re ready for another busy day at the yard with lots of pony fun, smiles and making memories! 🐴✨

☀️ Fun & Food
🐎 Pony time & activities
🧹 Learning all about caring for our horses
💦 Plenty of fun along the way
🥰 And of course lots of cuddles with our four-legged team!

☀️ It’s another hot one today! ☀️
With the heatwave continuing, some of our sessions may need to be changed or adapted depending on the temperature. The welfare of our horses, children and team will always come first. 🐴💚

We have plenty of fun non-ridden activities we can do if it becomes too hot to ride, and we’ll keep everyone updated if there are any changes to booked sessions.

Another week of the summer holidays has absolutely flown by! 💚 We hope all of the children who have joined us this week have had the best time.
