Please share your pics below π₯Ήπ
Also, some tips and reminders to keep our furry friends safe this spring π»
π keep chocolate out of reach! If youβre concerned your dog has eaten chocolate contact your local vets for advice or check out the Animal Poison Line - 01202 50 9000
π be cautious of toxic plants - Lilies, Daffodils, Tulips, Bluebells, Rhododendrons and Azaleas - this is mainly due to ingesting the plant πͺ΄
π We all love a Spring clean - make sure pets are in different rooms and rooms with windows are well ventilated π¨ sprays and liquids containing bleach are very toxic to pets
π Ticks πͺ³ they will be hiding on the tips of plants and blades of grass waiting to jump onto their next host - concerns with ticks are risk of Lyme disease so make sure they are up to date with veterinary prescribed ectoparasite treatment
π Lungworm πͺ±- again, veterinary prescribed endoparasite treatment is needed to prevent this, especially if your dog is prone to eating slugs π€’
π Adders π - believe it or not these are common in our local north east areas - an unfortunate dog was bitten last week in Elba Park and was taken to the emergency vet immediately π
π Hot cars π - do not leaves pets unattended in hot cars without full ventilation! Even with windows down, a car monitoring at 22 degrees Celsius can DOUBLE within an hour and your pet is at serious risk of heatstroke π₯΅
π Good old seasonal allergies and flare ups - itβs itchy season! Grass, pollen, dust mites etc. If youβre worried your pet is nibbling between toes, belly, scratching ears; feel hot/lumpy/bumpy; looks red/inflamed have a word with your vet as they may need appropriate treatment. My GSDβs both take Nutracoat which is a fantastic herbal supplement by Nutravet ππΌ
