Buddy, a 3-year-old rescue Chihuahua, came to us for specialised care 🐾💙

He arrived as a very nervous little pup who is particularly sensitive around touch. His owners are still learning his triggers as his history before them is largely unknown.

Buddy can become overwhelmed when pushed too far and may choose to ‘check’ or warn when he’s uncomfortable, especially with new people. He also finds it difficult being left alone and can be protective of his space.

With this in mind, we took everything at Buddy’s pace — no pressure, no rushing, just calm, consistent handling and giving him the choice to engage.

As you can see from his stay, he began to relax, accept touch, and allow us to stroke and care for him 🐶✨A huge step for a dog who finds this kind of interaction challenging.

Buddy is a sensitive soul who just needs patience, understanding, and the right approach — and we’re so proud of the trust he built with us 💛
