This in-depth seminar with founder Georgie Jones is designed to help build confidence, consistency, and fairness in detection dog trials judging.

At Detection Dog Trials, scoring is designed to help you grow as a team — not just measure results. 🐾

Our runs are scored across 10 different sections, looking at both handler and dog performance, teamwork, communication, and search skills. Every team receives feedback on their scoresheet to help highlight strengths, build confidence, and support progression in training and competition.

Whether you’re new to detection sports or working towards championship goals, our scoring system is built to encourage learning, development, and stronger partnerships every step of the way. 💙🩷

At DDT we love trainers, trials and organisations that are all for supporting the dogs training! Especially if they’re inclusive to everyone and allow any odour!

Got a dog with a nose? Then they’re officially invited to a day of pure, unadulterated sniffing madness! Drop the leashes (well, don't actually drop them) and join us Saturday, June 27 for a fun-filled day of epic detection games.
Whether your pup is a master detector or just really good at finding that piece of cheese you dropped three days ago, we want them here.

Who Can Play? (Spoiler: EVERYONE.)
When we say any dog, any scent, we mean it! We don't care about your resume; just about their desire to sniff
• Intact dogs? Yes, fine!
• Puppies & youngsters? Yes, fine!
• Total beginners to Olympic-level experts? Yes, fine!
• Non-standard sport oils? Yes, fine!

Seriously, humans: Any dog. Any scent.

Where’s the Paw-ty?
We’re heading out to the great outdoors! We'll be gathering in a welcoming, wide-open farm environment in Cedar Fort, Utah (about 45 minutes of head-out-the-window wind time from Salt Lake City).
Admission & Treats
This whole day is just for practice, fun, and major tail wags. We’ll be hosting live scent games,and the top-scoring pups will walk away with some prizes!

We had an amazing time bringing Detection Dog Trials to Georgia, new judges were trained and we held the first trial in Georgia! We’re excited to see DDT grow on the East Coast. We had Narcotics, Human Remains, and sport dogs all competing together.
