Why do we advocate neutering all cats from 4 months old?
Currently we have no foster space left for any cats or kittens.
We have mums and kittens, both currently advertised and soon to be advertised, having been handed in as strays, unwanted or having given birth in a back garden.
We have pregnant cats, one not claimed despite clearly having been an owned and loved baby once, so yet more kittens to come.
And our emergency space was filled late last night by a feral kitten covered in ticks, full of worms and abandoned by his frightened mum, having seen a sibling killed on the road. No doubt she will soon be pregnant again unless we can find her and neuter her first.
If you want to help cats
◦ Please neuter at 4 months old to stop unwanted pregnancies, overloaded populations and full rescue pens.
◦ Please keep an eye out for strange cats and help us with our trap, neuter, return policy before kittens are a possibility.
◦ Please adopt from rescue centres where those homed are neutered, vaccinated, free of parasites and as healthy as can be ensured.
◦ Please volunteer as a fosterer to help us look after all the cats and kittens we need to.
Thank you.
