Fantastic day at Wessex EGB Piddle ride meeting up with 4 of our horses and their wonderful owners who all did brilliantly on a hot and very sticky day(in more ways than one for our learning curve on the 49k try a mid ride vet gate 😵‍💫🤔🤣).

A big thank you to Yiva Mowatt and Carol Legg for such a brilliant ride and to all the happy and helpful volunteers, you are amazing!
Thank you also to the lovely helpers who put a bemused Caroline, Lady and myself(as hapless crew) back on the right track when we didn’t know where we were supposed to go to start the 2nd loop after our mid ride vetting, which sadly lost Caroline and Lady several precious minutes.
But on the bright side, the great thing about that sort of mistake is we won’t be doing that again…hopefully 😊🤞

Big hand too to the 67k race riders who all did a fabulous job of bringing their horses home safe and sound across the finish line to win their prizes 🎉👏

Looking forward to meeting up again with ‘GL’ horses and their owners/riders at the Endurance GB Wessex Group Piddle Rid...

Congratulations to Paul Simmons and Zayin Zachilles on finally getting Endurance(what Arabians were created for)onto the front cover of the Summer 2024 AHS News!
In over 30 years of being a Life Member of the Arab Horse Society I can’t ever remember seeing an endurance horse and rider on the front cover(please feel free to correct me if I’m mistaken).
Also, great to see a very interesting article written by Bella Flicker on ‘buying your next endurance horse’.
The front cover photo by David Saunders shows Paul and his trusty Arabian at the Golden Horseshoe where they won a gold medal.
Unfortunately I can’t add photos for AHS copyright reasons but if anyone can please do. 🙏🙏

The 3 Amigo’s- ‘CS Dare To Dream’, ‘GL The Legacy’ and ‘GL Hafeed Al Fadee’.
‘CS Dare To Dream’(A Rusleem grandson and approximately 40%Crabbet/Old English) arrived as a 6 month old little sweetie last December and has grown at an incredible rate of knots!!
The 2 boys with him(our ex stallions)stand at around 14 .3hh and are teaching him to be a well mannered future stallion for producing yet more extremely successful endurance horses 🐎🐎🐎🐎

‘GL Gilded Lady’ bred by Gold Leaf Arabian Stud and owned by Carloline Pitt seen here traversing one of the water crossings on the 42km EGB Piddle Ride.
Congratulations on gaining a grade 3 despite Lady losing her boots very early on and having to complete the whole ride barefoot.
Vetted as sound as a pound and coming a creditable 10th in a sizeable class!!🐎🐎🐎🐎
