Well what can we say about today...

We had a fantastic time at both Abakhan Fabrics, Hobby & Home and Beti Bach’s dog boarding kennels & doggy day care fun days.
We met hundreds of people, heard some fascinating stories and got to teach so many of you about our amazing animals 😊

It's thanks to our incredible volunteers that we're able to split ourselves like this so a huuuge thank you to Quinn and Josh, you guys are the best!

The highlight of both shows has to be Nellie meeting Kai, another tenrec. I think love was definitely in the air 😂

If you missed us this weekend, don't worry, we're busier than we've ever been this year so keep an eye out for more dates soon!

We've been busy, busy, busy the last few days, working hard to keep the animals cool, working hard at work, and working hard to get things ready for this weekend!

You have two, that's right, two chances to catch us on Saturday. We'll be at Abakhan Fabrics, Hobby & Home and Beti Bach’s dog boarding kennels & doggy day care. Double the shows, double the fun! 😊

We can't wait to see you all 😁

Today marks 5 years of Billy being part of the J&S team! 🐍

Look how much he's grown! 🤩

We were told he was around 5 years old when we took him in, which means he's around 10 years old now! 🥰

During the last 5 years he's helped countless people face their fears and fall in love with snakes with his placid and curious nature, he's the perfect ambassador for his species, and snakes as a whole 🐍

Happy 5th "gotcha day" Billy Bob! 🐍

With the weather warming up, we're looking forward to getting back to some outdoor events!

We kick things off on Sunday 24th with a nice local one at Bridlewood Equestrian Centre for part of their fun day. There's going to be pony's, a bouncy castle, face painting and ice cream, what more could you want? 😁

Then next weekend we split the team with a trip to Abakhan Fabrics, Hobby & Home for a family fun day and we'll also be at Beti Bach’s dog boarding kennels & doggy day care for a dog show to raises funds for Shad's Legacy North Wales 🐕

We can't wait to see you all!

We often get asked if we ever take Casper for a walk, which also answers another frequently asked question, why does he have such a mucky nose 😂

We fully believe in giving all our animals the chance to exhibit their natural behaviours as often as we can. Here, you can see Casper putting his nails to good use as he digs around, trying to find something tasty to eat 😊

It's mental health awareness week!

We see time and time again the positive impact animals have on people. We're often told how therapeutic handling a snake is, we see people's stress melt away when they cuddle Casper, even the sense of pride when you conquer a fear and handle a bug 💚

Some people will tell you that only cats and dogs can have that impact but we wholeheartedly disagree. Pets of all kinds offer companionship, help lower cortisol levels, encourage routine and often exercise. They also act as conversation starters, to allow easier socialising 😁

All of these factors boost your mental health 👍

So this mental health awareness week we want to say a huge thank to all of the pets, of all kinds, that help their owners in so many ways 😊

🌟Today the world celebrates the 100th birthday of a living legend 🌟

David Attenborough has been, and continues to be an inspiration to thousands of people, including all of us here at J&S.

His love for every living creature and desire to protect the planet we share with them is infectious. Our motto, "Education not exploitation" was founded by the influence of people like him.

We fully appreciate how cool it is to get a photo with a big snake, or face a fear by handling a cockroach and we will always facilitate encounters like that, but education will always be our priority 🎓

We want to show you why you don't have to be afraid of them and how important they are to the planet 🌏

So we'd like to wish a very happy 100th birthday, and say a massive thank you, to Sir David Attenborough 🥳
