The last month of mild weather with rain showers has allowed grass to make a recovery BUT also gut and lung worms have flourished.
Over the last few days we have seen several cases of lungworm in grazing cattle........listen out for coughing

Trees are stressed from the prolonged dry weather resulting in acorns coming off early. Green acorns are more toxic to cattle and sheep. Some animals develop a taste for them.
Signs of poisoning include inappetence, abdominal pain, constipation and black tarry muck

We have seen outbreaks of Haemonchus this season - in lambs, and ewes in some flocks

To clarify Bluetongue has been seen globally with numerous serotypes seen in many countries including America and Australia.
You do need to include the unique animal id numbers for all animals vaccinated
Bluetongue vaccinated cattle can come into Wales without blood tests if Bultavo-3 vaccine course has been given
And finally Scotland is NOT miserable!!!!!!

Lovely day at Caerwys Agricultural Show Page . Weather was kind. Good to see everyone enjoying the day 🐄🐏😎
There was 125 sweets in the jar. And the cow was Buttercup. Hampers will be on there way to the winners 🏆
