🐯 We had 2 stray cats brought in last night. One now home thanks to her microchip, but one young girl who is hoping her family is missing her. Please call 01788 345345 if you are missing your baby. She will be kept with us for 7 days, and if no owner comes forward, she has a lovely home offer.
Please chip your your pets, its not only a legal requirement for cats and dogs, but it helps get them home. It is only £25, so really not worth the risk 🐯🐢🐰🐾

PET OF THE MONTH for April is the divine Fergal πŸ’œ.
This gorgeous 5yo boy broke 3 bones in his tarsus (ankle joint) in a race, and his CT scan showed that the fractures and dislocation of the joint would not be repairable without leaving a life long painful joint. Greyhound racing is underpinned by an amazing charitable trust that covers some vets fees for injured greyhounds, which meant Fergal had surgery to fuse his joint. This is a complicated surgery, but it meant that if it was successful, he would keep his leg and not live in pain.
Fergal has stayed with us for his recovery, as the leg needed to be splinted and bandaged whilst it was healing. His trust fund ran out, but we have covered all his costs to ensure he had the best chance at a full recovery.
He is just the most loving, kind, cuddly boy and we all adore him. He has been so brave, and remained trusting and adoring of all the team throughout his long recovery.
We are super delighted to say he will soon be ready for rehoming, so we are looking for a cat free home where Fergal can give a lucky person/people his devoted love. If you know of anyone who deserves this gorgeous boy, please message us πŸ’œ

PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE IN THE HEAT πŸ™. Pets can die very quickly from heatstroke- its 100% best avoided. Brachycephalic dogs are HIGH RISK in the heat, keep them in the cool please. There are also so many myths around what to do- if in doubt, get them wet-call the vet. Please read the below myth busting article.
We are always here for emergencies, but we would truly prefer not to see you, keep them safe- stay cool this weekend 😎

Let us investigate the myth behind cooling animals with heat stroke with tepid water.Although it is generally agreed that rapid, effective cooling increases survival in heat stroke, there continues to be debate on the optimal cooling method. As with many things, we often find ourselves with lots of....

We are delighted to introduce our first 'Pet of the Month', the gorgeous Hallie πŸ’œ.
Hallie is a beautiful young spaniel, who has already put her Mum and Dad through the mill as she has previously had to have stones removed from her intestines, 3 times!!!
When we met Hallie, she was showing all the same symptoms again!!! We admitted her to hospital, and an ultrasound showed there was definitely something odd inside her, we looked into her stomach with our endoscope, but there were no stones in her tummy. Stones often dont show up on xray, so
we took a CT scan and found several pieces of unusual texture 'foreign body' material in her intestines, so an operation was needed, to save her life.
At surgery we removed 6 chunks of horn type material!!! lodged in 3 different places in her intestines. Hallie stayed the night with us on constant monitoring care, and in the morning she went home wagging her tail, after lots of cuddles from our team, who all adored her sweet nature.
Hallie has been in twice for check ups, and bless her, she comes in wagging her tail and ready for a fuss πŸ’œ.
We all love a happy ending, now Hallie wears a muzzle when out, as she doesn't seem to have learnt from her past endeavours!!!! She is a lucky girl who has a wonderful family.
We are super proud of our amazing team, who deliver such excellent care, around the clock, and always go the extra mile for our patients, your pets. And Hallie's bill was a third of her last visit to a big corporate hospital!
Every day, we are loving meeting so many of your wonderful pets, we will always strive to do everything we can for a happy ending.
Have a great weekend, here if you need us 😊
