Rearranged my diary for this afternoon as it’s too hot for the dogs I had booked in, to be groomed inside my van.
Please be careful remember no dog died from missing a walk but heatstroke is dangerous. Look after those pups and keep the cool 🥵

Polite notice FLEAS!!!

Over the past 2 weeks I’ve discovered fleas on 4 dogs. Please please please check your dogs for fleas before I take them into my van. Once a dog with fleas has entered my van, the van must be treat with flea bombs and left for at least 4 hours, additional cleaning. This means I could be potentially postponing grooms on other customers if my van needs to be out of action for the rest of the day. No one wants there dog to come out of the groomers with fleas.

Fleas are absolutely rife at the moment. Please discuss treatments with your vet. I do not offer flea treatments as this is a veterinary role.

If you do discover your dog has fleas please use a decent treatment as advised by vets, I would also recommend also making sure your dog is also treat for worms as the flea life cycle and tape worm life cycle is very closely linked often where you find one there will be the other.

Your home will also need to be treated with flea household sprays on discovery and then again 2 weeks later. Household treatments do not work on fleas in the pupae stage of their life cycle which is why a repeat household treatment is recommended.

To reassure my customers I am extremely careful. My van is treated with a flea bomb each weekend and each time I discover a dog with fleas and out of use till I know it is clear. It is highly unlikely a dog groomer would not recocgnise fleas in a dog they are grooming. Please note I am having to introduce an additional fee for dogs that come into my van with fleas to help cover the cost associated with removing fleas from my van.

Hi Apologies for being quiet lately the warmer weather means that I have been incredibly busy. I’m afraid at this moment in time until things quieten down a little I am not accepting any new clients. This is to allow my existing customers to get booked in and keep to their regular grooming schedule. Here is the gorgeous Pippa I groomed earlier today

I am on annual leave at the moment travelling too, chilling, enjoying the Easter agility shows with my own little princess. Bella is doing exceptionally well and has won her first agility grade 1 clear win in agility. She has been an absolute little star. Will be back to work next Tuesday when I will get back to anyone that has messaged me.

Hi 👋 Intro time…..We are The Kitching’s.

We have looked after our friend’s dogs while they were on holiday over the past couple of years and loved it. Not only having the extra dog but helping out friends when they go away, so they have peace of mind their dog is being kept in a family home opposed to a kennel.

Sarah has 28 years of having dogs under her belt and teaches agility for a living. Ian has also been around dogs/working dogs all his life and runs our dog park.

We have 5 dogs of our own and 3 lovely children who have been around dogs all their lives.
