1st Championships of the year and he smashed it 🎉🎉
On Friday we trucked down to for the AE champs representing
A perfect journey there with time to chill ready for the course walk. Having seen the pics online before I was only really concerned about the ditch and the water given last time I was there with Vic that’s as far as we got!
I shouldn’t of worried 🤩 Apart from being a grade A ninja 🥷 in the warm up as Bee was there (read on to that what you will but I was seriously regretting my life choices for pretty much all of it!)
Then we went in and he was a pro, clear round the SJ if a little backward by me and then slightly surprised we were then jumping XC fences! One and two were a little sticky and backwards from me and then we found our groove.
Trotted in to the water and cantered out and we were away! Saw a flyer at fence 5, wiggle back to the water and confidently canter through and over the corner. Fence 8 on the angle, wobbly to the step but up and over and then gave him a good straight line to the ditch and trotted, safe to say it wasn’t huge but he hopped over, down the back and over 11. 12 was a nice double, he did look at the first which caught me by surprise but flew over the 2nd on the 5 strides I had walk. I saw a flyer at 13 but he had locked on and was really going 🎉🎉 And then the Joker - a lovely upright plank 🤦♀️ I left it to him as either was we would of probably had it down 😂 and we did. Gutted but so so pleased.
As it turns out even if I had of cleared the Joker I would of still walked away without a frilly 🏵️ as we were super close to getting a speeding ticket so would of ended up 12th 🏎️
To finish the day he got a lovely sloppy Restore and Perform mash 🥰
I would love to event him this season after that but I have to look after his feet so unless we have the wettest summer he will be sticking to the arena stuff.
