📢 COULD YOUR DOG SAVE ANOTHER DOG'S LIFE ❤️?

Pet Blood Bank UK are appealing for blood donors 🩸.

If you can't attend one of these sessions, but would be happy for your dog to be a blood donor, you can volunteer them to be on our own blood donor list, here at TVC - contact us for more information ❤️🩸❤️.

Upcoming sessions we urgently need more lifesavers to attend 🙏❗

Blood stocks are critically low, can your dog help at any of these upcoming sessions?

📍 Wimslow, Woodcroft Vets - Thursday 13 November
📍 Workington, Millcroft Vet Group - Saturday 15 November
📍 Penrith, Frame and Swift - Saturday 15 November
📍 Upminster, Wylie Vet Centre - Sunday 16 November
📍 Lincoln, The Veterinary Hospital - Tuesday 18 November
📍 Ashbourne, McMurtry and Harding Vets - Thursday 20 November
📍 Upper Caldecote, Elizabeth Smith Vets - Saturday 22 November
📍 Stourbridge, Vets4Pets - Sunday 23 November
📍 Cardiff, Valley Veterinary Hospital - Sunday 23 November

We have 57 appointments available across all of these sessions. That's up to 228 more lives we could help to save if we filled every slot 🩸

Please help us if you can by attending one of these sessions, sharing this post, or spreading the word to anyone you know who might be able to help.

The countdown to Christmas is on, and we need to ensure we have enough blood in stock for any dog that might need it - it truly is the greatest gift you could give a family.

To become a lifesaver, dogs need to be between 1 and 8, weigh over 25kg, and be fit, healthy, and confident 🐕

As always, your support is so appreciated ❤️

Lovely Indi wasn't here to see Vet Matt, but she spotted him and took her opportunity!!

📢 UPDATE, FRI 21ST NOVEMBER- FLOKI IS HOME ❤️

📢 LOST CAT - 📍HENLEY-ON-THAMES
PLEASE SHARE 💚

In Floki's owner's words ❤️:

'Hi our beloved cat Floki hasn’t been home for 2 weeks. He wears a collar, name tag with number and AirTag. We can see he is still moving around, largely around 20-41 Valley Road so the tag hasn’t come off. I’m worried someone’s been feeding him. He's my daughters cat and despite calling him and looking for him at the locations a few times we can’t find him. If anyone is feeding him pls stop, he is our cat and loved. He is all Grey with a purple collar and silver name tag and AirTag holder. My name and number is on the collar. Thanks Natalie'

🎃 Halloween Pet Safety Alert! 🎃

As we head into Halloween, it's important to be mindful of common toxins that can pose risks to our pets. Here are a few to watch out for:

🌟 Glow sticks
Contain a chemical called dibutyl phthalate, which has an unpleasant taste and can cause drooling, vomiting, and skin irritation if ingested or broken open.

🍫 Chocolate
Contains theobromine, which can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, elevated heart rate, tremors, and even seizures. The darker the chocolate, the more toxic it is to pets.

🍇 Raisins
Contain tartaric acid, which can cause acute kidney injury — even small amounts can be dangerous for dogs.

🍬 Chewing gum
Often contains xylitol, a sugar substitute that can trigger a dangerous drop in blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and potentially liver failure.

🎃 Pumpkins
While plain, cooked pumpkin is safe in moderation, ingesting raw or moldy pumpkins can cause gastrointestinal upset or expose pets to tremorgenic mycotoxins, which may lead to tremors or seizures.

🕯️ Candles
Not toxic, but if swallowed, they can cause a gastrointestinal obstruction, and hot wax can lead to burns.

🐾 Tip: Keep Halloween treats and decorations out of your pet’s reach, and contact your vet immediately if you suspect they've eaten something they shouldn’t have.

Stay safe and spooky! 👻🐶🐱
