With temperatures set to hit 32ยฐC today and stay hot throughout the week, itโs extra important to help keep your dogs safe and cool ๐ถ๐ฆ
Here are some simple cooling tips you can do at home:
๐พ Avoid daytime walks โ if possible, head out very early in the morning before the heat builds.
๐ง Try โgoodie bobbingโ โ chop up your dogโs favourite hydrating treats and place them in a bowl of water for them to fish out and enjoy while get some extra fluids.
โ๏ธ Cooling coats & bandanas โ keep them topped up with cool water or pop them in the freezer before use.
๐ Freeze their licki mats or colling toys โ fill with dog-safe freezable treats, freeze, and let them enjoy a tasty way to cool down or wet their cooling toys and put them in the freezer for an extra cool game.
๐ณ Provide plenty of shade and cool resting spots.
๐ง Always make sure fresh, clean water is available.
๐ฅ Frozen carrots are always a hit!
๐๏ธ A small paddling pool can be a great way for dogs to cool off if they choose to.
๐ Cooling mats are an essential to offer up - make sure they are in the shade.
