Ponderosa Zoo

Ponderosa Zoo is family friendly with over 140 animals, including Lemurs, Meerkats, Otters, Scottish Wildcats, Reindeer and many more!

Based in West Yorkshire and home to over 100 animals, Ponderosa Zoo offers a great day out for animal lovers!

*Our lemur walkthrough and air bouncers are closed during bad weather. We have multiple outdoor play areas and a Lakeside restaurant. Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and ice creams can be purchased from the Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlour. Hot meals can be purchased from the Lakeside Re

Arctic foxes are built to survive some of the harshest conditions on Earth, but life in the wild isn't easy. Most live only 3 - 6 years, and their population size often rises and falls with the boom-and-bust cycles of lemming populations.

With expert care in captivity, these incredible animals can live up to 14 years! ❄️🦊🌿

It’s a coati! 🐾✨

Coatis are intelligent, highly inquisitive mammals related to raccoons and are known for their dexterous front paws, which they use much like hands to forage, climb, and manipulate objects. 🧡 They have strong curved claws that help them dig for insects, fruit, and other food in the wild.

They’re also very social animals, often found moving around in groups called bands, communicating with a range of vocal sounds and body language. 🐾

You can choose to adopt: ring-tailed lemur, meerkat, turtle, Asian short-clawed otter, Scottish wildcat or a serval 🐾✨

Adoption packs are available to purchase in-store only (no zoo admission needed), making it super easy to pick one up!

Each pack includes:

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who visited Ponderosa Zoo this May half term! 🦦🦌

The sun was shining and it made the perfect backdrop for a wild adventure, and we loved seeing so many of you enjoying your time with our amazing animals ☀️💚 Your support means everything to us and helps us continue caring for the species here at the zoo.

Our craft fair was a fantastic success - thank you to everyone who came along and supported our wonderful stallholders! 🛍️✨ We still have a few spaces available for stallholders for the summer holidays, so if you’d like to join us, we’d love to hear from you.
