Gina came into the care of Cats Protection Sheffield & District Branch with a darkened right eye and inflammation. As suspected, Gina had an eye tumour, but thankfully it was caught early and the removal of the eye should cure her. Gina has been doing well in our care!

Did you know it’s actually a myth that poinsettias are a great danger to cats?
However, although not life threatening, if eaten, they could cause vomiting, diarrhoea and drooling. And contact with the sap can cause mild irritation to the skin and eyes.
Like most plants, they’re best kept out of reach of cats who like to nibble! 🐾

When Tilly found herself at the vets after her aggressive behaviour left her owner unable to continue to care for her, Cats Protection Tain & District Cats Protection Branch stepped in to give her a second chance.

A thorough vet check revealed Tilly had hyperthyroidism and arthritis, which were no doubt having an impact on her behaviour. After a thyroidectomy, medication and care and training from her dedicated fosterer, Tilly was transformed, both physically and emotionally. Four sick kittens found on a landfill site were thankfully tempted to safety by fish. 🐟

Our Cats Protection Yeovil & District Branch team were called in to help some feral cats living in a dangerous waste site. Upon arriving, branch coordinator Rebecca heard the high-pitched meows of the kittens and managed to entice them into a trap with kippers!

The four kittens were around five weeks old but were the weight of a two-week-old and sick from worms. Thankfully with vet treatment and lots of TLC from the team they all survived and Jack, Jill, Skip and Marley will be ready to go to their forever homes soon.

Handsome Raymond came into care via our Cat Guardians service, after his owner sadly passed away. Raymond was obviously very bonded to his owner and found it hard to settle into life at the Centre. He couldn't tell us what he was feeling, but we had hope. The team patiently sat with him each day and gradually, he learned to trust again.

Raymond is now happy and confident in his new home.

"He loves his afternoon Grandpa naps and tells us off if we are downstairs and not in bed by 10 p.m."- Raymond's new owner.
