🐾 Let’s Talk About Nails! 🐾
We often get asked to trim nails as short as possible, but here’s why sometimes we can’t get them as short as you'd like:
🔴 The Quick: Each dog's nail has a blood vessel running through it, called the quick. Some dogs have longer quicks, and some have shorter ones. We can only trim up to that point, as cutting any further causes pain, discomfort, and bleeding.
📆 Retracting the Quick: With very regular nail trims (every 2 or 3 weeks), we can help the quick to gradually retract, allowing us to trim the nails shorter over time.
🚶 The Importance of Regular Trims: Long nails can cause problems, like growing into the paw pads or affecting your dog's walk, putting strain on their joints. For healthy, short nails, we highly recommend trimming every month to keep those paws in tip-top shape!
Your pup’s comfort and health are our top priorities! 🐶✨
