The Springers 🥰

I realsied a haven't put any pictures up of the spaniels on here. We had a lovely walk early this morning with 5 of the dogs.

The spaniels photographer so well, look how beautiful they are. Esk and Connie had a blast.

We were working on keeping the dogs close and a working pattern just in front of us. Plus some swimming to finish off on.

Manners and Steadiness

This is a great exercise for teaching manners, control and steadiness.

Your dog should not be barging you out the way to get through the door before you. They should wait until they are told to walk through.
They should answer to their name when commanded to do something, not just do what they want, when they want to!

The girls did a great job!

When dad invites you on a special teatime walk.

Its so easy to say "I'm too busy" with the carnage in my house with the 4 children but today I made the time.

I honestly had the best walk i have had in a very long time. With mum, dad, 3 children in tow and lots of dogs we had a brilliant time. I usually walk on my own so it felt amazing to have company and the dogs absolutely loved it.

Shirley 🐶

Today we have been practicing the stop whistle and recall.

When introducing the whistle, I still use the verbal command. So I say 'Shirley come' and then use the whistle recall sound. Once Shirley knows the whistle recall sound, I will drop the recall command.

This works the same with the stop whistle sound and the command on 'sit'

Steadiness session with the dummy launcher.

This is the perfect exercise to practice in this hot weather as the dog needs to just sit still. This is the first time I have done this with Margot and I was very impressed with her.

I just used the dummy launcher for the sound and not for retrieving the dummy.

I wanted Margot not to run in on the sound of a gun, stay in her sit and be calm during the exercise.

We still need a bit of work as she lifted slightly after the 3rd shot but overall she did a great job.
