Taking your pets on holiday takes planning and preparation to ensure both you and your furry friend have an enjoyable trip.

Key things to consider before taking your pets on holiday are:

🐾 Has your pet had a recent veterinary check up?
🐾 Are your pets vaccinations up to date and have they had the required ones?
🐾 Is your pet microchipped and if so are your details up to date?
🐾 Does your pet suffer with travel sickness?
🐾 Will you be able to travel your pet in comfort and safely?
🐾 Will you be able to take regular breaks during your journey?
🐾 Will it be too hot for your pet?

If you are travelling internationally ensure you check the DEFRA website for your travel requirements. You may also require an Animal Health Certificate.

Remember to also be prepared for emergencies!

By taking these steps you can ensure that both you and your furry friend enjoy a positive experience on your holiday. ☀️

With us now going into the main holiday season, have you ever thought about when you go away and someone is either looking after your pets or if they are off to kennels/cattery it could be quite stressful for your pets?

Why not help them relax by making sure they take a favourite blanket and toy of theirs that smells like home.

You could also add in calming pheromone products which come as plugs ins or sprays. Travelling calmers are also available.
