🐾 Pom-Pom Ultimate Cuteness Alert! 🐾

What a week!

We were delighted to welcome three adorable puppies for their vaccinations, Bean for his neutering procedure, and brave Doris for her kneecap surgery. ❤️

We’re absolutely delighted to be part of their journey and to help keep these lovely pets happy and healthy.

Safe to say we’ve had more than our fair share of puppy cuddles and wagging tails this week! 🐶✨

🐾 Rainy day outside, but pure sunshine walked through our doors this morning! ☀️

Beautiful Lucrezia, a 4-month-old Tibetan Terrier, came to visit us and instantly melted our hearts. 💛

She may look sweet and innocent… but those puppy teeth are sharp enough to remind us who’s really in charge! 😆🦈

Milo came to see us for his weight check today… and we honestly can’t believe how grown up he is already 🐾

It feels like only yesterday he was a tiny puppy, and now he’s turning into such a handsome big boy 🩵

Senior pets often don’t “suddenly” become unwell. Tthe changes are usually slow, subtle, and easy to miss day to day 🐾

In fact, over 60% of older pets are living with at least one undiagnosed condition, often because the early signs are so quiet they go unnoticed at home.

Things like:
• Sleeping a bit more
• Slowing down on walks
• Changes in appetite or thirst
• Slight weight changes
• Less interest in play

The good news is that early detection makes a huge difference to long-term comfort and quality of life.

May is Vet Nurse Awareness Month 🩺

And we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible nursing team here at Burpham Vets 🐾

Because veterinary nurses do so much more than most people realise.

From the moment your pet walks through the door, they’re there providing care, calm and reassurance. They’re involved in almost every part of your pet's journey with us.

Just some of what they do:
💬 give advice and support to owners
🩺 run nurse-led clinics
🩹 carry out post-op checks and wound care
💉 take blood samples and place IVs
🧪 run lab tests and process samples
🩻 take and process x-rays
🩼 bandaging and dressing wounds
💧 administer fluids and medications
❤️ and, just as importantly… plenty of TLC in between

They’re the ones monitoring, noticing the small changes, comforting the worried pets, and often being the familiar face your pet trusts most in practice. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without them.

So this month is for them! Please make sure to say thank you if you see them in practice — they absolutely deserve it.
