Olly the cockatiel came to the practice because she was suffering from egg binding- a very dangerous condition where a bird is unable to lay an egg, causing it to become blocked. After an assessment, we found the egg was unusually large and X-rays confirmed its size. Since this is an emergency condition and the egg needed to be extracted, Olly was placed under anesthesia so we could safely remove it. After recovery, she was comfortable, bright & happy again.

We recently treated Mika, a tiny Pomerenian with a broken leg and due to the complexity of the fracture, our trusted orthopedic colleague Duncan came to help us with the procedure. Using a highly specialized technique, he successfully repaired the fracture and as you can see in the pictures, the result looks fantastic.

Our little patient is now recovering very well and will soon be back to enjoying life and having fun once fully healed 🐾

For particularly challenging cases, especially orthopedic surgeries, we work together with trusted external specialists like Duncan to ensure the very best care for our patients. For all other procedures and treatments, we, Natalia and Marcos, take care of everything in-house.

Misha came to see Natalia as an emergency after being referred by our colleagues when his eye rapidly deteriorated. On examination, he was found to have a painful corneal ulcer that required urgent treatment and close monitoring.

We are very pleased to report that Misha responded brilliantly to treatment, his corneal ulcer has healed well and he is now back to his normal happy self 💜

At Surrey Family Vets, we are happy to accept both routine and emergency referrals, working closely with local practices to provide prompt care when patients need it most.

What a fantastic day at today’s Dog Show in Send! 🐾

It was a real pleasure to be part of such a lovely, big event- we were amazed to see so many participants and such a great turnout.

Little Roo popped in for his second puppy vaccine today 🐾💉 and we just couldn’t resist grabbing a sneaky pic… how cute is he?! 🥹📸
