Calling all Senior Dogs! 🐾 Please read⬇️😊
🐾 Could your senior dog benefit from Spot's Space? 🐾
We wanted to talk a little more about why we created Spot's Space, because we think it could make a really meaningful difference to the right senior dog.
Getting older is a natural part of life, but slowing down, losing muscle, becoming less confident and doing less isn't necessarily something we just have to accept as "old age".
With the right support, senior dogs can continue to enjoy a really good quality of life. Appropriate exercise and fitness can help maintain strength, mobility, balance and confidence, while mental enrichment gives them opportunities to keep learning, thinking and enjoying themselves.
And perhaps just as importantly, continuing to do things with their person helps maintain that wonderful partnership we have with our dogs.
That's exactly what we saw with Spot.
Spot was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and spondylosis, but with the help of an amazing team of vets, physiotherapists and other professionals, we were able to put together a multimodal management plan that kept him mobile, comfortable and enjoying life.
He couldn't do everything he once had, but he could still do things. He loved appropriate activities, mental enrichment and, most of all, his Senior Dog Class with our amazing Leah.
We know from experience that caring for an older dog can become expensive. Physiotherapy, appropriate exercise, pain management and other support can all add up, and not every owner can afford everything they'd love to provide for their dog.
That's why we created Spot's Space.
Spot's Space is a fully sponsored place designed to help one senior dog stay active, comfortable, mentally engaged and enjoying life for as long as possible.
It includes:
🐾 Weekly Senior Dog Fitness – to help maintain strength, mobility, balance and confidence
🐾 Fortnightly Movement Puzzles – for mental enrichment, problem solving and building confidence
🐾 Monthly Wellness Workshops – practical support and ideas to help owners manage their senior dog's changing needs
🐾 Monthly physiotherapy with Leah at Vulcan Veterinary Physiotherapy – helping support comfortable, appropriate movement as part of their wider management plan
Who is Spot's Space for?
We're looking for a dog who:
🐾 Is 10 years or older
🐾 Has a diagnosed mobility condition, such as arthritis
🐾 Has an owner who can commit to attending the classes and sessions
If you're unsure whether your dog would be suitable, please get in touch. We're very happy to have a chat.
🐶 How do I nominate a dog?
You can nominate your own dog or someone else's.
Just email [email protected] with a photo and a little bit about the dog and why you think Spot's Space could make a difference to them.
Please don't decide for us that your dog isn't "deserving enough". If they meet the criteria and you think they would benefit, we genuinely want to hear about them.
If we receive more than one eligible nomination, we'll choose the recipient by drawing a name from a hat. ❤️
📅 Nominations close 9th September 2026
📍 Spot's Space begins in September.
We created Spot's Space because growing older shouldn't mean giving up on the things that make life fun.
Sometimes it just means finding new ways to enjoy them. 🐾❤️
**Please share this post with anyone who has a senior dog who might benefit.**
Classes will be held at our venue in Shere, Surrey
