Don’t miss part 2 of brave border collie Lottie’s story on Supervet ER tonight.

It’s been a difficult road to recovery for Lottie, who returns to see Professor Noel Fitzpatrick with a worrying development. Having tried to repair her foot, which had been left hanging off by a serious trauma, sadly the blood supply to part of the foot has not held up. So, Noel and his engineering team design and manufacture an innovative plate to support Lottie’s surviving toes, which he offers to her family as an alternative to amputation.

Brave border collie Lottie being cared for by a fellow Lottie, our senior anaesthesia nurse! 💙

Don't miss Lottie on Supervet ER tonight, as part 1 of her story is shared.

After a nasty collision with a delivery van on her farm, poor Lottie arrives at the practice with severe damage to one of her hind legs, her paw hanging off and the bone possibly dead, giving Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and our team a complex medical and moral challenge. Can they save Lottie's leg - and is it the right thing to do?

A throwback to earlier this summer, when beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog Ronnie returned for a recheck, 6 months after having a right total hip replacement performed by Senior Clinician Jan Janovec.

Ronnie had to undergo a total hip replacement at just 11 months of age after suffering an irreparable fracture to his hip.

Big kudos to the family for pulling off the near-impossible — keeping a lively young boy rested during recovery! That takes some serious skill (and probably a lot of treats and distractions)!

Fantastic to see this lovely boy doing well and back to his boisterous young self! 💙

Beloved French Bulldog Mylo is affected by a subarachnoid diverticulum - a rare spinal cyst threatening paralysis. After the cyst returned following a previous surgery, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and the Fitzpatrick Referrals team attempt a ground-breaking new procedure using the custom-built FUSS plate (Fitz Universal Spinal Stabilisation plate) to save his mobility. But the operation becomes one of our most tense and complex ever…

We’re excited to welcome Dr Pete Swart into his new role as one of our surgical residents! Pete began his three-year, ECVS-approved small animal surgical residency programme with us last month.

Having joined the team last year as a surgical intern, it’s fantastic to see him take the next step on his journey toward becoming a specialist.

Congratulations, Pete! 🎉

Rottweiler puppy Bailey is just 4 weeks old when she arrives at Fitzpatrick Referrals. Born with a deformed front paw, she is in pain and can barely walk.

Her bones are still developing and so she’s too young for most implants, but leaving her to struggle would be a real ethical dilemma and so euthanasia has understandably already been recommended. Mum, Jen, visits Noel hoping for another option to give Bailey a chance at life.

Noel and his team are confronted with a unique and delicate challenge that requires considerable creative thinking. He's never faced a case quite like this before - but after all - everything's impossible until it happens. So, Noel and his team and Jen are determined to give Bailey the chance she deserves.

Watch Bailey’s episode on Noel’s new YouTube channel from 7pm (BST) tonight > https://m.youtube.com/

A lovely thank you from the loveliest Labrador Evie 🥰🐾

Evie was happy to be reunited with her family this morning after having TPLO surgery with Senior Clinician James Guthrie yesterday. Chartered Physiotherapist Sam talked mum through Evie’s rehab instructions which will help her on her road to recovery.

Thank you for the delicious cake! 🍰 💙
