Meet Winnie, helping us put our upgraded laser through its paces! 🐶🕶️

Our physiotherapy team has recently upgraded its laser, giving us even more options to support our patients during their rehabilitation. The new laser delivers higher energy in shorter treatment times and has an additional wavelength, allowing us to target deeper tissues.

Laser therapy can help with pain management, swelling and inflammation, wound healing and conditions such as osteoarthritis and discospondylitis.

Our physiotherapy team can incorporate laser therapy into rehabilitation plans for both inpatients and outpatients.

And, of course, every laser patient needs a pair of doggles! 🐶💙

🎈It’s an extra special day for sweet Staffy Nellie, as she celebrates her 1st birthday today! With her kennel decorated in balloons and bunting, she’s been having lots of birthday cuddles and love from our team. 🎉

Poor Nellie’s had a tough first year after being diagnosed with bilateral developmental elbow disease, and had bilateral elbow arthroscopy and a left proximal ulnar osteotomy (PUO) with us back in September. Last week she returned to us for PUO surgery on her right elbow and we’re pleased to share that she’s doing well and recovering nicely.

She’s currently boarding with us for daily physiotherapy and will soon be home to celebrate a belated birthday with her mum.

Wishing Nellie a very happy birthday and brighter, pain-free days on the horizon. 😊 💙

Wishing a belated happy birthday to our lovely neurology patient Ruby, who turned 10 recently! 🥳️🎈

We’re delighted to hear she is doing well and continues to live a happy, active life! Ruby has had two surgeries with us in the past. The first was back in 2019 with Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, following an RTA that left her with fractures to her lumbosacral spine and pelvis, and the second in December 2023 for intervertebral disc extrusion at T12-T13.

We hope you enjoyed your delicious birthday cake Ruby! 🎂

Well done to our ECVS Surgical Resident Johanna Evers on her presentation, 'Comparative Clinical Outcomes of Two Surgical Procedures in Feline Cruciate Ligament Disease', at WVOC (World Veterinary Orthopaedic Congress) last week. 🎉

Johanna and a number of our orthopaedic team were in Rome, Italy, for WVOC and ESVOT Congress (European Society of Veterinary Orthopaedics & Traumatology).

How sweet is our little friend Vinnie here. You’d be forgiven for thinking he’s a puppy but he’s 11 years old!

This brave boy was happy to be out of surgery for his luxating patella (slipping kneecap). Orthopaedic surgeon Christos Niklaou carried out a sulcoplasty, which is a procedure that deepens the shallow groove in the femur (thighbone) where the patella sits, to stop it slipping.

Wishing Vinnie a speedy recovery! 💙
