Since going full-time in January 2025, we have continued to grow, add new services, and provide personal care to your beloved pets. To help you get the most out of our services, here is a simple guide on how we work.

# # 🗓️ Our Services & Availability
We are a mobile service and a scheduled pop-up clinic. **We do not offer walk-ins; all appointments must be booked in advance.**

* **Home Euthanasia:** Available 7 days a week (must be pre-booked).

* **Home Senior Care, Routine Care, & Pop-Up Clinic:** Generally available **Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays**.

* *Clinic Location:* 2 Canal Street, Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, G66 1QY.

# # # 🕒 Enquiry Hours
* **Open for enquiries:** 6 days a week, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
* **Wednesdays:** Closed for enquiries (but pre-booked home euthanasia visits still go ahead).

*Tip: Because we are often on the road or with patients, we cannot always answer the phone immediately. Please use our **24/7 online booking system** on our website to instantly secure your spot!

# # 🚨 Emergencies & Limited Services
We are **not** an emergency or out-of-hours vet. If your pet needs surgery, x-rays, or overnight hospitalisation, we work closely with partner clinics to ensure they get care.

If you have an emergency, please contact:
* **Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):** Condorrat Vets in Cumbernauld – **01236 728273**

* **Nights & Weekends:** Emergency Vets Glasgow – **0141 260 5555**

> 📝 *Note: When booking online, you will receive an email consent form. If your pet needs a procedure we cannot perform (like neutering or dental work under general anaesthesia), we will transfer your pet’s medical history to Condorrat Vets so they can take over.*

# # 💻 Booking Tips & Same-Day Requests
* **Book Ahead:** We highly recommend booking at least **24 hours in advance** to get your preferred time.

* **Same-Day Bookings:** While our system sometimes allows bookings 3 to 4 hours in advance, this depends on our schedule. **Requests made after 1:00 PM for the same day are very difficult to accommodate.**

***Zone 3 & Fully Booked Days:** If no times are showing online for home euthanasia, or if you are in our new Zone 3, you can fill out our online request form.
* If submitted between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, we will respond with advice/availability within 2 hours.
* Requests sent after 6:00 PM will be answered the next morning.

# # 🌟 Extra Services We Offer
* **Pet Health Plan:** A budget-friendly monthly plan for routine care (vaccines and flea/tick/worming treatments that can be delivered to your door) that is cheaper than local practices.

* **Lab Diagnostics:** External testing through Idexx labs (urine, stool, skin, ear swabs, etc).

* **Online Food Store:** Order pet food via our website for home delivery or clinic pickup.
* *Free nutritional advice available!*
* *We stock gastrointestinal food and probiotics for upset tummies (no prescription needed, just pay in advance and collect).*

🐰🐰🐰🐰 Let's 'rabbit' about furry ears (and other furry bits of animal you might consider feeding to your dog) 🐰🐰🐰🐰

Following on from a great chat all about fibre with a client today, it's a good time to revisit the oft cited myth that rabbit ears are effective (de)wormers......

TLDR; they aren't 🫣

🐇👂'Ear, 'ear 👂🐇

Can I whisper something to you? 🤫

*hairy ears (or other hairy body parts of animals) are NOT effective de-wormers for your dog* 🙈

I see this being advertised and advised a lot and it worries me as parasitic worms are capable of causing significant health and welfare issues if not appropriately managed - and feeding hairy ears are not appropriate management methods! 🐰

If furry things were effective dewormers, wild and free-living scavengers and carnivores would not have the parasite burdens we know they can have 🦊🦝🦡🦅

What these chews are however, are tasty (for some dogs) additions to our dogs' daily diet and can provide enrichment and a source of animal-derived fibre that may support gut health. Their effectiveness at 'trapping' worms and microscopic worm eggs in the gut....no robust evidence at all 🪱🔬

(And honestly.... just because you never see worms or eggs, that doesn't mean they aren't there!)🫣

If you want to control parasites;
🪱poo pick regularly and keep housing areas clean - many parasites are transmitted in 💩

🪱ensure good overall health for your dog through diet, exercise, management and care

🪱use a service to know what is ACTUALLY going on

🪱treat based on need and seek veterinary advice on local issues relating to management, parasite species concerns and possible resistance problems - these differ based on geographical location, climate, vector species and a whole host of other variables!

Keep hairy ears as tasty treats (but also source carefully....remember these are by-products of animal production systems and not all are as high welfare as we might like to think 🐰)
