Oscar 😍 I love this boy, we've come so far in our relationship since I first treated him at the beginning of February. Back then he was really guarded and although he allowed me to treat him, he wasn't really convinced it was a good thing.
Now he trusts me, we have open communication during our sessions, each of which is different. Sometimes he'll be up for firmer pressure or more vigorous techniques, other days, like in this session, he wants everything slow and calm. He finished with some big unwinding and relaxing.
It's been so lovely building this relationship and being part of his support team. Oscar is doing so well this year, his management is really working for him. He's feeling good and enjoying is work, having great fun on endurance rides and absolutely smashing it at his first dressage to music test this weekend. 👏
Massage/Bodywork play a key role in supporting our equine partners, whatever their discipline/workload and also if they're retired. It can help to:
🐴 Relieve tight or fatigued muscles, and improve exercise recovery
🐴 Support healthy blood and lymphatic circulation
🐴 Increase Range of Motion
🐴 Support rehabilitation and reduce injury risk
🐴 Indentify changes before they become problematic
🐴 Track muscle development over time
🐴 Stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system
🐴 Support mental and emotional regulation and wellbeing.
And so much more!
I use mixed modalities (Emmett Technique, Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage, Reiki) to provide treatments that are tailored to the needs of the individual in that moment.
