Halloween 🎃 is great fun for us humans but literally scary for some pets. Sudden loud voices in unusual dress and lights flashing around will spook a lot of pets. As will a costume they don’t really want to wear but their owner try’s their best to see if they will.

Some dogs and cats are fine: others really don’t enjoy it so use your hooman instincts on what’s right for your fur and feather ball and reptilian friend….

Training High Five Stylie! enrichment! Animal Welfare research shows that animals will chose to forage for food even when it is freely available. This originally came from an experiment with Starlings. Theories on why this happen vary but the common thought is that it relates to an evolutionary drive to perform survival behaviours.

And even when domesticated like this who has adapted to live in our homes, this innate survival drive still exists:
