So relaxed and composed in the salon now. Such a change from when he first came to me terrified of the clippers. Half an hour of games and desensitisation was all it took initially and now I'm always careful to give Merlin a reassuring touch with my free hand and never to approach with the clippers without letting him know first. Time given when needed always pays off in the long run. A fantastic outcome. Happy dog/happy groomer!

Reassuring each other for their freshen up. This lovely pair live together so they got the salon to themselves and took it in turns to be washed and desheded. A little unsure but a few treats got waggy tails!

A day of 2 halfs. One dog parent wanted to keep the coat extra long for warmth so I worked through the coat making sure all tangles were dealt with. The other dog parent was advised that a much shorter than usual cut would be sensible as they are on extended holiday and don't want to come home to a matted doggy.

Puppies ❤

I have had a few puppies in recently and several with curly coats that will need a lifetime of brushing and grooming. It's so important to introduce the grooming process to them as soon as they have had their 2nd vaccination and vital to start a home brushing routine with correct technique and tools. Otherwise the baby coat will mat up very quickly and so sadly the kindest solution is to clip off very short.

I offer a free consultation for all puppies and their owners! Please get in touch before it's too late and the coat is tangled and matted.

Puppy intro sessions like the one in the video are then advised before a full groom is booked. Otherwise the pup can be overwhelmed and frightened. Trust building first. This gorgeous girl got a little face and foot trim and was introduced to the noise of the clippers and dryer in her first session with lots of treats and games in between.
