I am always thrilled when I receive news on horses that I have bred, especially if I don’t know quite where they are now.
I received a message from Chloe who is the new owner of GFS Starry Skyes.
He is by GFS Fire and Ice out of ‘Tigger’ who some of you may remember. She was by Sligo Candy Boy and out of a Cruising mare. He was foaled down with Becky King who bought Tigger in foal. I did take some photos when I went to visit him as a foal and remember him as a huge, glorious c**t with a lot of style and class.
Chloe bought this handsome boy unbroken and has just gelled with him.
She said ‘I bought him to hopefully event and I will keep in contact with you! He’s done 4 dressage tests and got two 4th ( first ever dressage and only been sat on 6 times) then he got a 3rd and 2nd! In his recent ones x’
I believe he was a bit of a wild child, but now focused on a job he is showing some very promising work under saddle and a great attitude.
Congratulations Chloe and good luck, we would all like to follow your journey xx

It has been a strange week or two with the horses leaving for pastures new and wonderful new owners. The exodus started during the early summer as our plans took shape and our lovely home sold a lot quicker than we had anticipated that it would. We are due to take flight at the beginning of next month and preparations have been quite intense and highly emotional.
Angel has gone to the exciting and fast developing Springline Stud and her journey can be followed on FB should you wish to follow the stud, they have an exciting breeding program that focuses on quality horses with rare bloodlines and incorporate Akhal Teke, Arab and warmblood lines to develop modern sport horses of colour. Angel is in foal to GFS Fire and Ice.
Pepper and Charisma went to Joy Pither at Creamfields Stud, another stud with an exciting breeding program incorporating the rare Kinsky warmblood.
Kitty who is in foal to GFS Fire and Ice has gone to a small stud in Gloucestershire.
Kiwi has joined Jodie Amos with her two year old son GFS Conchaccorado.
GFS Arabesque has joined Karen Greig who has had enormous success in endurance GB with her mare GFS Te Amo (Opal) and is now excited to breed her own GFS Fire and Ice foal before starting Arabesque under saddle. Who knows where that might go...
In all, we have seen eleven of the horses leave in the past few weeks and we are now down to five. Two will be remaining under our ownership for the foreseeable future (more news on that is to follow) We now have three very special two year olds and the utterly captivating GFS Pirouetta Firefly looking for homes before the years end.
Needless to say with so many empty stables and two totally emptied barns, life has become a lot quieter and almost haunting in its relative silence and echoing walls of deserted stables.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are tempted to snap up one of our remaining horses.
Sahara has jetted overseas with her foal to join Global Elite Dressage and the wonderful Inca has joined her yearling son GFS Amadeus in Yorkshire to enjoy a pampered retirement.

There is always huge enthusiasm as we approach the gate in the evening to bring the horses in; the thought of a deep warm bed and supper waiting causes great excitement, as soon as they see us it is a race to get to the gate. As you can see, our horses catch us and not the other way round!!
Here is GFS Arabesque, GFS Pirouetta Firefly (available, GFS Deja Vu and Inca.

These two glorious and hugely athletic two year old fillies are sadly available!
GFS Olympia is a powerful, athletic filly to make 16.2hh, she has big paces and charisma in abundance. She is by Ahorn (Nimmerdor x Ladykiller) and out of a consistent winner at 1.40, Dolanda (Ultimo x Wellington). She is a beautiful natured filly with lovely manners, a gentle and affectionate nature. She is sure to make a dynamic and exciting prospect for anyone looking for a young horse to produce through the levels with potential for a top competition career.
She is vice free, great to handle in every way and a lovely, mannerly youngster to have on the yard.
GFS Luminita is the bay with one white sock. She will make 17hh and she is an absolute sweetheart to work with. She is by a very exciting young stallion GFS Illuminati who we sold to Dubai and despite his predominantly showjumping pedigree, he made a tremendous debut at the National Dressage Championship earlier this year, winning the freestyle class and taking second overall. She is out of a Quirifino Z mare who competed internationally. Luminita is exceptionally beautiful and has exceptional paces which would make her as exciting between the dressage boards as in the show jumping ring or flying round a cross country course! She is graceful, brave, confident and so athletic. She also loves everybody and is a delight in every way.
For anyone interested in these two beauties, there is more information on our website www.gfssporthorses.co.uk and I am happy to chat to anyone who may be interested in either of these beauties.
They are only for sale due to our retirement and imminent relocation.
