🐴🔥 A safety essential for every horsebox 🔥🐴
When we’re travelling with our horses, we carry everything we need for their comfort and wellbeing — but fire safety equipment is something that can easily be overlooked.
I’ve added a Fire Safety Stick to our horsebox because it’s a compact, lightweight way to be better prepared should a fire occur.
Unlike traditional fire extinguishers, the Fire Safety Stick is non-pressurised and uses a solid compound that, when activated, produces a fire-suppressing vapour. This helps interrupt the chemical reaction of combustion, helping to control early-stage fires and give you valuable time to move to safety.
Why I like it for a horsebox:

✅ No servicing or pressure checks – unlike traditional extinguishers, there are no annual servicing requirements. A simple regular visual/self-check is recommended.
✅ No corrosive powder or messy residue – the vapour leaves virtually no residue, helping reduce clean-up and potential secondary damage.
✅ Safe and practical – non-toxic vapour, suitable around vehicles, equipment and confined spaces.
Hopefully it’s something I’ll never need to use, but having it in the horsebox means I’m more prepared if the unexpected happens.
