The wait is over. The great day is almost upon us. We’re merely hours away from being open again. I’d like to say we’ve had a great rest but I’d be lying. We’ve all been busy with our day jobs and I’m gutted to say I won’t make it along tomorrow myself as my actual paying job continues. However we’re very thankful to Ivy who’s stepped in to make dough and bake our bread. Betty has indeed brothed once again and will have two options for you tomorrow. It’ll all be tiptop…………. Here’s the catch🤣……. As I’m sure you all know the cost of everything has risen and Bob the Banker has made me aware that if we want to keep this show on the rd on a long term basis we’re going to have to put our prices up to be sustainable or we’re for the chop. From tomorrow there’ll be a slight increase on some of our items. Soup with Bread will now be £3, Tea/ Coffee will be £2 and £1 for a refill, Scones will be £1 each, Focaccia will be £2 per slice. Bread will remain at £3, Rolls 2 for £1, Eggs £2, Cakes still 2 for £1. We apologise for these necessary increases but we believe everything we produce is absolutely still good value for money. Many thanks for your understanding and I’ll hopefully catch you next week. Regards Bert the baker.

We are missing you on our summer recess, but thought you’d like to know work is continuing to improve our Communty Hub. The entrance wall has been repaired and the Anchor Garden is being improved with more planting (thanks to Kellie Stupart) and gravel laid at the back. Only 5 weeks till we see you again.

Culross Stables - June 2025 Report

We are delighted to share the replacement roof works are now completed and it’s business as usual for all our groups - apart from those taking a break over the summer.

This week sees the damaged wall at the entrance being rebuilt and is the last sessions for our Seniors, Carers, Community Crust & Community Bakery - our staff & volunteers are taking a well-earned break over the summer holidays, closing on Friday 4th July after the Community Crust and reopening on Friday 22nd August from 11am for bakery sales, 12noon for the Community Crust.

Should you be looking for a good book to read over the summer holidays, we have a large selection of available - please come along on Tuesday or Friday this week and help yourself before we close. Our thanks to our librarian Sheila Carribine for keeping the book shelves in order!

We have recently emptied the ‘bucket of batteries’ and taken a full load for recycling - thanks to everyone who brings their dud batteries to us and helps to save the planet - the bucket for the dud batteries can be found beside the library books.

We would also like to thank Grow West Fife for helping us with our allotment and for their donations of salad & fresh berries - enjoyed by all those lucky enough to taste!

And finally, we would like to thank all those who make Culross Stables such a vibrant, happy place to be - our staff, volunteers, cake bakers, flower arrangers, anchor garden weeders, allotment caretakers and all those who lend a hand!

Enjoy your summer and we look forward to seeing you in August!
