We cannot fully put into words how over the moon we are that darling Brendan has been caught ❤️
He has been on quite the adventure the past 5 days!
Brendan went missing on 12/03/23 from Devilla Forest to the east of Alloa after getting spooked on a walk.
Dana’s Angels who cover Fife helping missing doggies and Missing Pets Perth & Kinross came together to help Brendan and his family.
There was a few sightings immediately after he went missing but he was so scared he wasn’t for coming to anyone.
From sightings from the public and ground work we were able to work out the route he took after he went missing. Thank you to ‘Ryan’s Farm’ for being able to provide footage to show the area to first concentrate searching.
We utilised equipment like thermal scopes to help us all search areas where we otherwise would not have been able to see him.
Brendan was able to find a way onto the railway track (thankfully the railway line isn’t in use!). From walking the costal path he was spotted one night on the actual coast line and heading towards Longganet.
Thanks to the security at Longganet sightings of him came in of him accessing the disused plant from the railway line. The security staff were on alert to kindly inform of any further sightings.
It was clear he was using the railway line as a safe pathway and other sightings came in of him at the nearby Quarry, Kinkardine and even as far as Alloa.
He even took a paddle in the River Forth!
He was covering a lot of ground but his adrenaline was keeping him going.
Brendan was on high alert. Attempting to chase, grab or corner him wasn’t going to work and there was a high risk of doing so it would push him into danger as he was seeing everyone as a threat.
We appreciate everyone listening to the advice that was given and to only call in sightings.
Brendan eventually was settling more and more in an estate in Kinkardine so the next steps of the plan could be put in place. Cctv was capturing sightings which was a massive help.
The family scented the area, left a bait station, Dana’s Angels trap and Missing Pets Perth & Kinross’s live camera was put in place to be able to monitor the area further.
He was getting more and more into a routine and by his body language you could tell he was ready to be caught.
Tonight after more scenting and baiting Brandan gave us all the most wonderful surprise!
The family were warming up at the estate house and the caretakers were giving them a cup of tea before they left the area. The caretakers daughters were playing and laughing. Suddenly they realised Brendan was at the front door! We think the sounds of children’s voices reminded him of his human siblings.
His family took on board the advice of softly approaching, calm voices and it worked! Their boy came to them ❤️
Brendan is understandably exhausted but he is safe and after lots of cuddles and TLC we are sure he will be back to himself in no time.
We want to say a special thank you
A huge huge thank you from the family and ourselves for everyone’s help and support as so many people came together to help this beautiful boy home.
A special thank you to Darren, Martin, Ewan, Linda, Andy, Gayle, for all the hours and miles you put into helping search and the community of Kincardine who phoned in sightings and listening to advice.
Love Team Brendan 🐶❤️🐾
