Pullet Rearing
We have four separate rearing farms situated in Perthshire, Stirlingshire, Ayrshire & Lanarkshire rearing day old chicks through to point of lay at 16 weeks old. Each farm is registered and audited with BEIC and Freedom Foods. They are fitted out with the latest step rearing equipment to allow the chicks to be reared in as near their natural environment that is practically possible.

Our rearing capacity amounts to 90,000 birds reared at any one time allowing us annually to distribute 1/4 million free range and organic point of lay pullets for the Scottish Egg Industry. We cater for orders of 50 birds up to 20,000 birds. Laying Farms
Our laying farms are split between organic and free range egg production. Two farms in Angus one with 12,000 Organic birds and one with 3,000 organic birds. A further two farms in Perthshire consists of one with 32,000 Free Range and one with 16,000 Free Range. All these farms are registered and audited with Freedom Foods and BEIC inspectors. Both Free Range and Organic eggs are sold to a National Packer/Retailer. Transport
J S R Services transport consists of three vehicles. Our Mercedes Van and a 7 1/2 tonne vehicle are used for the distributing of our egg packaging, and animal care products for the egg industry. The third vehicle is a dedicated pullet transporter with 22 modules and an on board forklift with a carrying capacity of 8,500 pullets. This vehicle is registered and audited by Freedom Foods to ensure bird comfort and welfare is adhered to at all times.

He’s only gone and done it 🙌

We’re still not quite sure how. But he started Tuesday morning 7am in Wales. 3 peaks, the west highland way and what turned out to be more than 550 miles. Finished at 7pm Saturday night all in 5 days. In what can only be described as the worst possible weather conditions for a challenge like this. Just incredible. And an incredible amount of money raised all ready but still time for to throw him a couple quid.

We are proud to be supporting Stuart on his Challenge 550 for prostate cancer. He’s currently descending Nevis at 2am after 14 hours on the bike today. West highland way tomorrow. Thank you to all of you we know and those of you that we don’t know who have all donated so far. It really is helping get Stuart through this. He’s at £15800 at the moment be amazing if we can get him to £16k before he wakes up later this morning. Thank you all for your support 🐓

We are looking for 2 hard working reliable individuals to assist our clean-out team in washing Lorrys and poultry sheds. Main tasks will be power washing with a bit of grass cutting and manual work. Transport available from Blairgowrie and full training will be given. Immediate start available. This position is for 6 weeks to assist with a busy period but could lead to full time position for the right hard working person. Lots of overtime available. Suggested working hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 1.30pm
Due to increasing workloads, we are looking for a friendly, reliable, and organised Office Assistant to join our busy agricultural office based at Norwood Farm, Meikleour, PH2 6EN.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting the Office Manager and helping with the smooth day-to-day running of the office, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy and hands-on working environment.
Main Duties Include:
• Assisting the Office Manager
• General farm administration and record keeping
• Answering and making telephone calls
• Filing and maintaining office systems
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the office
What We’re Looking For:
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
• Full driving license required due to our rural location
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Agricultural knowledge or experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
Working Hours:
Our preferred working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 1.30pm. However, we are happy to be flexible and will consider alternative days and hours for the right candidate.
