There are some horses who just stop you in your tracks. Lui is one of them.

Lyon's Louis Vuitton - or Lui, as everyone here calls him - has been one of those horses who's gathered a following almost without trying. And honestly, it's not hard to see why.

He's got presence, the kind that makes you look twice even when he's just walking across the field. But what really wins people over is his nature - he's kind, and he's got that wonderful combination of confidence and warmth that makes him an absolute joy to be around.

His breeding speaks for itself - but it's the horse he's become that we're most proud of. He's the sort of youngster who makes you feel like every decision you made along the way was the right one. The cross, the care, the time - it all shows.

We've watched so many of you fall for him over the past year, and we completely understand it. He's one of those horses who gets under your skin in the best possible way.

If you'd like to see him move, we've got videos over on our YouTube channel. And as always, we're happy to chat properly if you'd like to know more.

If you're thinking about breeding this season but feel a bit unsure about the process, you're not alone - and it's genuinely not as complicated as it can seem.

Here's a quick guide to how chilled semen works, and what to expect:

🔹 Timing is everything - Your vet will monitor your mare's cycle to identify the optimal breeding window. Most mares are ready to be covered around 24-48 hours before ovulation, so good communication between you, your vet, and the stud is key.

🔹 Ordering the semen - Once your vet confirms your mare is ready, we arrange collection and delivery. Chilled semen is typically viable for 24-48 hours, so timing the delivery to arrive when your mare is ready is important.

🔹 The insemination - Your vet will carry out the insemination, usually on the same day the semen arrives. It's a straightforward procedure, and most mares handle it without any fuss.

🔹 Pregnancy confirmation - Your vet will scan your mare around 14-16 days after insemination to confirm pregnancy. Fingers crossed for that little heartbeat!

We're experienced at supporting mare owners through this process, and we're always happy to talk you through it step by step. No question is too basic - we'd rather you feel confident and informed than uncertain.

If you're thinking about breeding this season and want to know more, just drop us a message.

Hugo is one of those horses who just makes you smile every time you see him.

With Nico x Benvenuto x Don Schufro breeding, he's got the kind of pedigree that speaks for itself - bloodlines known for producing horses with genuine quality, correct movement, and that lovely, willing nature that makes them a pleasure to bring on. But what really wins people over with Hugo is just... him.

He's kind. Genuinely, consistently kind. The sort of horse who's always happy to see you, always willing to try, and always makes you feel like you're working with a partner rather than managing a horse. At three, he's showing exactly what we hoped for when we planned this cross - quality movement, correct foundations, and a temperament that makes you excited about his future.

He's well handled, confident with people, and ready for the right home. Someone who'll appreciate not just what he can do, but who he is.

If you've been thinking about a quality youngster with proven bloodlines and the personality to match, Hugo is absolutely worth meeting in person. There's something about him that photos just don't quite capture.

We've got videos up on YouTube, and we're always happy to arrange a visit. Just drop us a message.

Spring on the yard is one of our favourite times of year.

The horses are out, the days are long, and there's that particular kind of energy that comes with everything being in full swing - breeding season, youngsters growing and changing week by week, and the whole place feeling alive in a way that's hard to describe if you haven't experienced it.

This is the time of year when you really see the youngsters come into themselves. The extra turnout time, the longer days, the warmth - it all makes a difference. They're more relaxed, more playful, and you can really start to see their personalities shining through.

It's also the time of year when we're reminded why we do this. Not for the competition results or the sales - though those are brilliant when they come. But for moments like this. Watching horses be horses. Watching youngsters who were bred with care and raised with thought grow into exactly what we hoped they'd become.

We wouldn't have it any other way.

We talk a lot about movement. About bloodlines. About conformation. But there's one thing that doesn't get nearly enough attention when people are evaluating a dressage prospect: temperament.

Here's the truth - a horse with average movement and an exceptional temperament will almost always outperform a horse with exceptional movement and a difficult temperament. Because training is a long game, and the horse who shows up willing every single day is the one who makes real progress.

So what does good temperament actually look like in a young horse?

🔹 Curiosity without anxiety - A youngster who investigates new things with interest rather than fear is already showing you something important about how they'll handle the pressures of training and competition.

🔹 Recovery - How quickly do they settle after something spooks them? A horse who bounces back quickly is going to be so much easier to work with than one who stays wound up for hours.

🔹 People orientation - Do they come to you in the field? Do they engage with handling? A horse who genuinely likes people is a horse who wants to work with you, not against you.

🔹 Consistency - Is their behaviour predictable day to day? Consistency in temperament is one of the most underrated qualities in a sport horse.

This is why we prioritise temperament just as heavily as movement in our breeding decisions. Because the goal isn't just to produce talented horses. It's to produce horses people will genuinely love working with for years.

If you're evaluating youngsters and want to talk through what you're seeing, we're always happy to help.

Our very first foal of 2025, and she arrived already knowing she was something special.

Lyon's Dior - born 26th April 2025 - is by Myspires Fider Hit (Fidertanz x Sandro Hit) and out of our wonderful Gucci (Charmeur x De Niro). She's already showing herself to be the perfect blend of both parents. Fantastic quality, outstanding presence, and a temperament that makes her an absolute joy to be around from day one.

She's a half sister to Lui, Lyon's Louis Vuitton, who so many of you have already fallen for. Dior has that same wonderful nature. That same easy confidence and genuine friendliness that makes you smile every time you see her. It clearly runs in the family.

What makes Dior really special is how complete the package already feels. The quality is there, the presence is there, and the temperament is everything we could have hoped for. She's the kind of foal who reminds you exactly why thoughtful breeding decisions matter - because when you get the cross right, it shows from the very beginning.

We've got photos and videos of her over on our YouTube channel - well worth a watch.

Good nutrition doesn't always get the attention it deserves in young horse development - but it makes a real difference.

We've been using as part of our youngsters' routine for a long time now, and the results speak for themselves. Better coat quality, improved condition, and horses who are developing well without becoming fizzy or difficult to manage. It's designed specifically for growing horses, and that shows.

What we love most is how straightforward it is to use. It fits into the daily routine easily, the horses genuinely enjoy it (feeding time is definitely their favourite part of the day!), and it supports healthy development in a way that feels right for how we like to manage our youngsters - naturally, without shortcuts.

For anyone with young horses or fussy eaters who need a bit of extra support, it's absolutely worth looking into.

Good foundations start long before a horse ever steps into a school. What they eat, how they're managed, the environment they grow up in - it all adds up.

We'd love to know - what are you looking for in your next horse?

Drop your answer in the comments - we love hearing what matters most to people, and it's always a reminder of just how different (and personal) the search for the right horse can be.

And if you're looking for something specific and want to chat about whether any of our youngsters might fit the bill, our DMs are always open.

Lyon's Sky's The Limit - or Sky, as we call her here - is one of those youngsters who just has it.

Born 5th June 2024, Sky is by our own Mick (Apache x Ferro) and out of a Secret x Sir Donnerhall mare. That's a pedigree that genuinely excites us - Mick's proven ability to stamp his quality on his offspring, combined with the elegance and rideability that the Secret and Sir Donnerhall lines are known for. On paper it's a seriously impressive cross. In person, she's even better.

She's got that presence that makes you stop and look twice. Quality, correct, and already carrying herself with a natural confidence that tells you exactly what she's going to become. But it's not just the looks - she's got the personality to match. Curious, bright, and full of character in the best possible way.

What we love most about Sky is that she's got Mick's wonderful temperament coming through already. Confident without being sharp, friendly without being silly. The sort of filly who makes you excited about every stage of her development, not just the end result.

We've got photos and videos of her over on our YouTube channel if you'd like to see her move - and we're always happy to chat about her properly.
