Froggetts Farm Flowers

Froggetts Farm Flowers Simply stunning dahlias The inspiration for Froggetts Farm Flowers has probably come from two people, CharlotteA and MelB.

Both extraordinarily creative, unique and talented people who I am blessed to have as friends. The first showed me how stunning Dahlias really can be, by growing gorgeous, vibrantly coloured varieties in her garden and then bringing them inside to contrast perfectly in her beautiful Danish home. The second has shown me how wonderful it is to be inspired by beauty and the truth. She amazes me with

how many ways she uses her artistic gifts to do this. Both have an incredible eye for design. So thank you to two of the most creatively inspiring, and strongest, women I know.

Risked planting out Ranunculus yesterday but covered it in sheep 🐑 fleece overnight to protect from cold & 🐌 & slugs 🥶😬. 🤍🐑fleece and it’s never ending uses here at Froggetts farm. Pop sound on 🔊 to hear me as can’t figure out how to put captions on posts (along with many many other things 🙄😀).

Capturing the spring flowers early this morning - just listen to the birdsong and also Skye 😼asking for her breakfast and putting me off - always an animal distraction 🙄😂

A small mixed orchard, some corkscrew willows and some Hellebores have been planted recently (I lost quite a few the latter last year - planted them too close to a tree) all from . Very happy with quality, providence & eco friendly packaging. More 🌳 here feels important - the paddock is very open, can be very wet (especially now) & we just need more trees. 😍

Coming out of my frozen 🥶 social communications, just around Wassailing* time someone reminded me today (maybe I’m even more aligned with the seasons than I realise!), and thawed (😬 sorry can never resist a 🧀y pun) time for an update. Wonderfully, always so much going on here, though often don’t realise till stop and take a breath 😊
1st pic Early January Felix & I still planting so many bulbs (always ‘better late than never’…so if you’ve 🫵still got some just pop them in a pot/ground)
2. Frozen Froggetts - so beautiful 🥰
3. Frozen Froggetts Take 2 - captured even more beautifully by my husband Ru 😍
4. & 5. visit to be inspired by serious landscaped beauty & the wisdom of Claire Brown at her, regular, seasonal talks 🤩🙏
6. Oops 😬 a frozen Ranunculus corm (another post!)
*A traditional Twelfth Night folk ritual celebrated for centuries in Britain’s Orchards & believe it or not we’re just planting 🍎 🍐🍒trees beginning our own orchard - couldn’t have planned it better…if I’d planned it 🤭🙏

Jamie is a star 🤩- bless him and his journey 🙏- thank you so much for your help and to wonderful The Amber Foundation for all they do supporting those who are vulnerable in our communities. 👏

“Amber has given me a reason and a purpose. I’ve gained better understanding of myself and of others. It has given me back my family and introduced me to recovery – without that I wouldn’t be here. I’m so grateful.” 🧡

Before he came to Amber Jamie was homeless and sleeping in his car over winter, battling with heavy drinking and poor mental health. After speaking with his key worker, Jamie came to Amber’s Surrey centre; Farm Place.

Amber’s structure and routine helped Jamie find his way again, alongside access to recovery programmes. “At first I was so grateful to have a hot shower, a safe place to sleep and food. I’m now grateful to be in the community and find my independence again. And since being in recovery, I’ve learnt to be me I guess. I’ve learnt that taking part can lead to doors opening.” 👏

While at Farm Place Jamie took part in lots of volunteering projects including with Surrey Care Trust, Froggetts Farm Flowers and an arts and music project at The Orpheus Centre, a local special needs adult college. “I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and gained a sense of community and purpose.” 😊

The Team Leaders at Farm Place were a big support to Jamie. They quickly gained an understanding of his needs and created a programme tailored to him so he could get back on his feet and gain employment.

Jamie took part in project at Farm Place with VIY, which he really enjoyed and gained vital accreditations. He also volunteered with Farm Place’s maintenance person, where he learnt a lot and it sparked his career plans. “I give back to the community through volunteering, particularly with the maintenance around Farm Place. It’s given me a sense of pride again.” 🛠

Jamie is moving forward as a maintenance assistant at a local independent school nearby which he can’t wait to start. “I feel a bit anxious but the fact that 7 months ago, before I came to Farm Place, I didn’t want to be on this planet and now I’ve got a purpose that fills me with positivity. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without Amber.”

Jamie’s future goals are to stay sober, be happy in life and give back through volunteering.

Lucy & her brother Harry travelled all the way from Greenwich to visit and pick flowers …in the pouring rain 🌧️. Honestly I felt so chuffed they’d come as Lucy knows a thing or two about flowers (all thanks to her very keen gardener father from the sounds), and there’s nothing more I love to do than give people a proper tour and explain the ethos behind our growing social enterprise. So a huge thank you 🙏 - it was so lovely to meet you both. And do scroll forward to see Lucy’s beautiful arrangements - I think they’re so good that I’ve told her if she ever decides she needs some time out from her new job (she’s just graduated from veterinary school 👏) then some floristry at Froggetts has to be top of her list …plus all the animals here will be thrilled to have her.
I know I keep saying this, but truly these flowers keep bringing the loveliest bunches… of people 😄to Froggetts Farm 🙏😊🩷🌸🩷

Ellie, her feet seen here with Darcy the dog, is holding the Froggetts Flower Fort this week & doing a brilliant job 🤩. Here Darcy is appealing to everyone nearby to us 🐶’Please stop at our gate and buy some beautiful Froggetts Farm Flowers’ 🌸🌺🌸🙏. Scroll forward - aren’t they knockout!😍
I can say this without self promoting, as Ellie has cut, conditioned & wrapped them all so beautifully - I even see a box of our hens freshly laid eggs 🥚 out there too. All our signs were handmade by our Amber crew just last week 😀.

Support local …thanks for being a great local store & for supporting local producers..like me & 🤗🌸🩷. They were the first business to buy the flowers last year and I am truly grateful. First pics from last year - last three are what’s available today. As the sign says ‘not even a slug pellet used’ so pesticide free and as sustainable as I can make it. All green to support local community groups and organisations who help those who need it most eg.
Do get in touch if you’d like any flowers for business or private - come and choose your own or I can have them ready. DIY buckets prepared too. Please support local businesses and home grown blooms …follow the flowers 🩷🌸🩷

Being asked to help with church flowers a few years ago by Belinda Crabbe was actually the last thing I wanted, or felt able, to do. But, despite me having no knowledge of plants, no flowers and, embarrassing to admit…no desire to be involved 😬…she sowed the seed of my love for growing Dahlias and it has been the most wonderful gift.
My arrangements are always simplistic (& these pics are my best ones!), often with Froggetts flowers (although the first one contains gorgeous icelandic poppies & ranunclus from ),
but she had a strong faith and somehow knew it was God’s plan. I think of my friend & neighbour often and am thankful she’s truly at peace now.

Right royal soil treatment - Sent soil sample to Royal Horticultural society by Royal Mail. When Tej (pictured) in the post office asked what I was sending he showed so much interest I just had to tell him all about the flowers (luckily there wasn’t a queue 😅). Thanks for following me Tej 🙏. I’ll let you know the results in about a month.
