Homegrown > a bottle of booze.
This is Dr Wang, my Chinese doctor - a little intuitive, mystical, magical lady who has helped me on my healing journey over the past couple of months, mentally+ physically.

We discovered we are both ‘avid allotmenters’. We enjoy talking about our progress, successes, disasters and exchanging advice. IYKYK 🌱

This week, I brought her some little treasures from my garden: a courgette with lots of personality, purple peppers and some local honey from our apiary. A simple way of saying thank you.
Her reaction melted my heart. She was genuinely touched, and I realised she may not have received a gift like that before from one of her patients. I knew she would appreciate it far more than a bottle of wine.

There’s something beautiful about gifting something you’ve grown, cooked, prepared or preserved yourself. I love baking cakes for everyone who comes to my workshops - because when you’re in my ‘home’, you get fed! Last week’s group even got ice-creams!

These things carry time, patience, energy, consideration, care, nourishment and love. They remind us of our connection to the land, to each other and to the simple things that keep us grounded.

This tradition is naturally ingrained in so many cultures + communities. Our Lithuanian neighbours regularly share their homecooked treats with us, and when their mum visits, she brings foraged mushrooms and vegetables. We share our abundance right back.

I’ve gifted homegrown veg and preserves to people before and been met with a very confused face. 😂 I know not everyone sees the magic in a homegrown courgette - and that’s okay.
But perhaps we’ve become disconnected from these simple exchanges: knowing where our food comes from, understanding the work behind it, getting soil under our fingernails and recognising the energy that goes into nurturing something from seed.

When you slow down, step away from the noise and ego, even the smallest offering can feel incredibly meaningful.

I never expect anything in return. But Dr Wang thanked me for my “hard work” and gave me a tin of Chinese tea and little charms in return. Bless her.🥹
I’ll take homegrown squash anyday.

🍯 NEW LOCAL STOCKIST - we're now stocked at Tanhouse Farm Shop! 🤎 Tanhouse

We're so grateful to the lovely team for welcoming another local maker onto their shelves.

I am certain most of you have been to their lovely cafe! They have yummy toasted sandwiches (Sam highly recommends the sausage roll 🥪), really good coffee, a gorgeous farm shop, a lovely community feel... and there are donkeys! 🫏

It's one of those places that just makes you happy and I look forward to taking my niece and nephew next time they visit.

Grab a jar of our super local honey, stay for breakfast or lunch, or a cake and a cuppa. Thank you for continuing to support local businesses. 🙏🏾🐝💛

10 years ago - sitting in a swivel chair, staring at a computer, living for weekends indefinitely. I knew I wanted to embark on a different path. I just could not quite visualise it. Not because I thought it wasn’t possible, but because I had not yet unlearned the things that taught me to stay small, stay quiet, make myself easier to control and never take up too much space. I’ve had to break free from fear, from people who tried to suppress my confidence and shrink my ambitions, those who planted doubt instead of belief. Those voices no longer get a seat at my table.

This journey hasn’t been easy. It has been built through thousands of small decisions, hard days, uncomfortable conversations, unconditioning.

The Wild Bee has given me space to grow. Every workshop, every order, every person who walks through the studio doors, reminds me why I do this because you place your trust in me - that is something I will never take for granted.

Creating these experiences fills me with so much joy. I get to watch people connect with their creativity, that lost childlike play. To be supported, encouraged and seen. That’s the space I promise to create every single time.

I am learning to choose boundaries over people-pleasing. Peace over approval. Growth over shrinking myself to fit someone else’s ego and expectations. It’s not easy. Love without respect, support without sincerity and relationships built on control and manipulation no longer have a place here. My energy is sacred. My choices are my rebellion.

To everyone who has supported me, believed in me, quietly cheered me on and chosen to be part of this journey - thank you. There are flickers of the real me emerging everyday, the wild woman who shares her love for bees and plants, stands confidently in her purpose and trusts in the universe.

I still have dreams that stretch far beyond where I am today. Season by season, the next chapter gets written, as I learn to unapologetically rewrite the rules. Growth is not linear but growth with intention and purpose is the most powerful thing.

Remedies from Hive 🧪🐝✨🧙🏽‍♀️
A few weeks ago, we gathered for our Remedies from the Hive workshop and what a magical day it was.

Surrounded by herbs, honey, laughter and a shared curiosity, we created an array of traditional remedies inspired by folklore, rooted in nature and supported by generations of practical wisdom. From rich electuaries and vibrant oxymels to nourishing ferments, every person crafted remedies uniquely suited to their own needs. The workshop is designed to allow you to be intuitive with plants that you feel called to. The creativity and curiosity in the room was beautiful.

What I love most about this workshop is that it’s about accessibility. The kind our ancestors relied upon. The kind that comes from knowing the land, understanding the seasons and working with nature. These are skills that have slowly faded from everyday life and together we spent the day remembering them.

The honeybee is at the heart of it all. Not simply for the honey they produce, but for everything they can teach us about resilience, balance, biodiversity and healing. Modern research continues to uncover the remarkable properties of hive products, while traditional knowledge reminds us that bees have always been powerful allies in supporting health and wellbeing.

Many of the herbs and ingredients we used were grown by me, making the experience deeply connected to the land itself. It’s something really special to be able to share these plants, their stories and their healing potential with others.

If you’re curious about remedies, fascinated by bees, or simply long for a slower, more meaningful way to connect with the natural world, i truly welcome you.

Come and discover the magic of the hive. So much practical magic. Spaces for the next one are available 🐝🌿✨
