☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER REMINDER 🐾☀️
Please remember our dogs rely on us to make safe choices for them 💛
Even when it “doesn’t feel that hot” to us, dogs can overheat incredibly quickly. Heatstroke can become life-threatening in minutes, especially for flat-faced breeds, older dogs, puppies, overweight dogs, and those with underlying health conditions.
A few easy ways to help keep your pups cool this week 👇
💦 Early morning or late evening walks only
🧊 Frozen Kongs, lick mats & dog-safe ice treats
🌳 Plenty of shade and rest breaks
🐶 Cooling mats, damp bandanas & paddling pools
🚫 No intense exercise in the midday heat
🚗 And never leave dogs in cars... not even “for 2 minutes”
At Bark & Board, safety always comes first. Walks may be shortened, moved earlier, swapped for garden visits/drop-ins, or cancelled altogether if temperatures become unsafe ☀️
I’d much rather disappoint humans than risk a poorly pup 🐾💛
