Itʼs a common misconception that hot cars are the main danger causing pets to overheat in summer. In reality, over-exertion during walks is the leading cause of heatstroke in dogs, making up an astonishing 74% of cases.
This risk is greater for dogs that are:
⚫Brachycephalic (flat faced)
⚫Overweight
⚫Elderly
⚫Have underlying heart or respiratory conditions.
.....and also young, active dogs whose excitement and activity level can overcome their ability to keep themselves cool 🔆🐕
