We are thrilled to highlight Heather, one of our dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurses here at Estcourt Vets as part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month!

Heather is a familiar and friendly face at Estcourt Vets, having been an integral part of our team since June 2021 having initially joined us as an Animal Nursing Assistant. Her passion for animal care led her to pursue formal veterinary nurse training, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate her graduation as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the end of January 2025 💚

Heather is a hands-on nurse who thrives in the fast-paced environment of the practice. Her favourite aspects of the job include surgical nursing, monitoring anaesthetics in theatre, placing IV catheters, taking blood samples and delivering in patient care🐾

Heather holds a special interest in feline behaviour and welfare. She is eager to expand her role in this area and hopes to lead specialised nurse consultations to help owners better understand and support their cats’ mental and physical well-being🐱

Unsurprisingly, Heather is a huge cat lover outside of work, too! Most of her free time is spent enjoying cuddles with Captain, whom she rescued as a kitten.

Meet Teddy and Bob who both came into the hospital to see vet Georgia recently for very similar issues!

Teddy had some intermittent gagging as he had managed to get a grass blade stuck in his soft palate, whilst Bob’s reverse sneezing was a blade of grass was firmly wedged up his nose 🌾

With the nicer weather, these type of problems can become more common ☀️ if you notice any changes in your pet let us know 🐾

Meet Ludo who came in to see us for a dental procedure 🐾🦷

Ludo spent a lot of his day enjoying cuddles from deputy lead RVN Charlotte (who has a soft spot from dachshund’s!)

Ludo was impeccably behaved all day and we loved seeing him back for his post-op checks 💕

This week is Veterinary Receptionist Awareness Week and at Estcourt Vets we have a fantastic team lead by our Head of Client Care, Emma, to help you and your pets 🐾

Meet our team:

Emma originally joined our nursing team in April 2005, but now heads up the reception team and also enjoys her part as an insurance administrator. She loves being able to squeeze in some puppy cuddles!

Julie became an integral part of our reception team in January 2018, and can be guaranteed to have the answer to anything reception related. Julie will often be seen out in reception giving treats to your wonderful pets!

Daniella has been a veterinary receptionist for a number of years before joining us in July 2023, where she now is both a receptionist and practice administrator. Sometimes you may even find Daniella helping up the hospital!

Hollie has been a veterinary receptionist for over 10 years, with her fantastic experience keeping her cool and calm under pressure; she also is involved in insurance administration. Hollie has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers and reptiles!

We are so thankful for all the hard work that our reception team puts in every single day 🐾
