🔸️1/6/26 UPDATE
Due to her poor health and condition, and with careful consideration of her welfare, the decision was made to let her go peacefully this morning, as no owner came forward for her.

Although her time with us was short, she spent her last week surrounded by warmth, comfort, good food, and plenty of fuss and affection.

Thank you to everyone who shared her post and cared about her journey.

FOUND CAT - DENBIGH HIGH STREET
A black cat with a small white patch on its chest was found on Denbigh High Street on 23/05/26.

The cat is friendly but unfortunately appears to be in poor condition and is not microchipped.

If you are the owner, or know who this cat may belong to, please contact the surgery on 01745 812047.

Unfortunately a male neutered cream chihuahua has been brought to the practice deceased from a road traffic accident in Lenten pool, Denbigh. He is microchipped but the details are not up to date. Please call us in the morning for further information.

A gentle reminder.

A gentle reminder.

It's that time of the year again where we must remind you that there are fledglings about.

"However tempting, interfering with a young bird like this will do more harm than good. Fledglings are extremely unlikely to be abandoned by their parents. Just because you can't see the adult birds does not mean that they're not there. The parents are probably just away collecting food - or are hiding nearby, keeping a watchful eye, or even being frightened away from their youngster by your presence. You should leave fledglings where they are, in the care of their own parents.

Removing a fledgling from the wild reduces its chances of long-term survival to a small fraction, and is a very last resort - only if it's injured or has definitely been abandoned or orphaned."

💚NATIONAL VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST WEEK 💚

This week, we’re taking a moment to recognise the incredible people who keep everything running smoothly at the front of our practice - our amazing reception team.

They are the friendly faces that greet you, the calm voices on the phone, and the ones juggling appointments, emergencies, and endless questions with patience and compassion every single day.

From comforting worried owners to supporting our clinical team behind the scenes, their role is so much more than “just reception” — they are the heart of our practice.

Thank you Jane, Ffion, Liberty and Johanna for your dedication, your kindness, and all the hard work you put in day in, day out. We truly couldn’t do it without you 💚🐾

🐾 Update: Changes to Pet Travel Rules (EU Travel) 🐾

From 22 April 2026, new rules will apply if you’re travelling from Great Britain to the EU with your pet.

What you need to know:

❌ EU pet passports will no longer be valid for GB residents travelling to the EU.

This includes passports issued in EU Member States or Northern Ireland, even if issued before 22 April 2026.

EU pet passports can only be issued to owners whose main residence is within the EU.

✅ You will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC).

Required for dogs, cats, and ferrets
Must be issued by an official vet before each trip.

➡️ Check before you travel
Entry requirements can vary between countries, so please check with your destination before you go.

🇬🇧 Good news:
There are no changes when returning to Great Britain with your pet.

📅 Planning a trip? Please book in advance
AHCs require an appointment and cannot be done last minute.

📞 Contact the practice and we’ll be happy to help

Further detailed guidance will be published on GOV.UK ahead of implementation.
