🐢💚 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 — 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐲’𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝! ❤️‍🩹

Meet our wonderful patient Timmy, who is an incredible 𝟔𝟐 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝! This lovely gentleman recently returned for a recheck of his wounds following a suspected fox attack, and we’re delighted to share that he’s doing really well. 🐢✨

Timmy is pictured here with our lovely Head Nurse Jules during his visit. His recheck gave our team the opportunity to take another look at his wounds and assess how his recovery is progressing. It was such a pleasure to see him again and share this positive update! 🩺💚

At 62 years young, Timmy has more than six decades of life behind him - just imagine the adventures he’s had! He certainly won our hearts, and we couldn’t resist capturing these lovely photographs of our very special patient. 📸🥰

Thank you to Timmy’s family for looking after him throughout his recovery and bringing him back for his check-up. Seeing our patients making good progress is always a lovely moment for the team. ❤️‍🩹

🌟 Meet our amazing vet, Ewa! 🌟

We’re so lucky to have Ewa on our team, bringing an incredible range of skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to everything she does! 🩺🐾

Ewa has a real passion for surgery of all kinds and loves getting stuck into cases, particularly when it comes to diagnostic imaging and ultrasound. She has recently achieved her GP Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging — a fantastic accomplishment, and one we’re so proud of her for! 🎉👏 She’s always keen to put her skills into practice and get scanning those ultrasound cases!

But that’s not all! 🤩 Outside of her veterinary expertise, Ewa is also a certified Polish translator for the Ministry of Justice — an impressive additional qualification that makes her talent pool even more remarkable! 🌟

She also has a special place in her heart for large-breed dogs 🐶❤️, having previously owned a Saint Bernard herself! So, those big paws and even bigger personalities are right up her street. 🐾

We’re incredibly proud of Ewa’s dedication to learning, developing her skills and providing the very best care for her patients. Thank you for all that you do, Ewa! 💚

🎃👻 SPOOKY WEEK IS UPON US! 👻🎃

The pumpkins are glowing, the sweets are flowing, and the spooky celebrations are just around the corner! 🕸️🦇 But while we enjoy all the Halloween fun, let’s not forget about our four-legged family members. 🐶🐱❤️

Here are some top tips to keep your pets safe during the spooky season! 🧡

🍫 1. Keep treats out of reach!
Chocolate, sweets, chewing gum containing xylitol, and many Halloween treats can be toxic to pets. Keep goodies safely tucked away and remind little trick-or-treaters not to share with furry friends! 🍬🚫

🍭2. Watch out for seasonal foods!
Grapes, raisins, onions, certain nuts, and foods containing alcohol can be dangerous for pets. Keep party food, leftovers, and unattended plates well out of reach. 🎃🍽️

🎆 3. Be mindful of fireworks and loud noises.
Fireworks can be frightening for our pets. Keep cats indoors, walk dogs before dark, ensure microchip details are up to date, and provide a cosy, quiet hiding place where they feel safe. 🐾💗

👗 4. Costumes should be comfortable and safe!
As cute as a Halloween costume might look, make sure it fits properly, doesn't restrict breathing or movement, and has no loose parts that could be chewed or swallowed. Never force your pet to wear a costume if they seem uncomfortable or stressed. 🐕🧙‍♀️

🕯️ 5. Beware of spooky decorations!
Keep candles, glow sticks, electrical wires, fake cobwebs, small decorations, and dangling ornaments away from curious paws and mouths. Battery-powered candles are a safer alternative to open flames. 🕸️🕯️

🚪 6. Watch those doors!
With visitors and trick-or-treaters coming and going, pets can easily slip outside. Keep them secure in a quiet room if needed, and make sure they have identification in case they escape.

🐾💙 Meet Milo, our handsome Husky! 💙🐾

Our gorgeous boy Milo recently visited us at Lakeview Vet Practice because he was feeling a little bit itchy! 🐶🩺

🌿 Did you know that pets can suffer from seasonal allergies, just like us?

Changes in the environment can expose our furry friends to allergens such as pollen, grasses and mould spores, which can trigger itchy skin and discomfort. Some pets may scratch more than usual, lick their paws, rub their faces or develop red, irritated skin.

🐾 How can you help your itchy pet?
💙 Wipe their paws and coat after walks to help remove pollen.
💙 Wash their bedding regularly to reduce allergens.
💙 Keep an eye out for excessive scratching, licking or redness.
💙Speak to your vet if the itching persists or your pet seems uncomfortable, as we can help identify the cause and find the right treatment.

🐾 MEET THE TEAM – VET NICOLE! 🩺🐱

Today, we’re introducing our wonderful vet Nicole! 💚

👩‍⚕️ Nicole has been a qualified vet since 2017, having trained in Romania before bringing her knowledge, experience and passion for animal care to the profession.

🐱 A cat lover at heart! 💚 Nicole has three cats of her own, all rescued, so she knows just how special rescue animals are and how much love they bring into our lives!

🔬 Nicole’s veterinary interests include:

🐈 Feline medicine – helping our feline friends live happy, healthy lives.

🩺 Dermatology – investigating and treating skin conditions.

🔎 Internal medicine – working up complex cases, investigating symptoms and piecing together the clues to reach a diagnosis for her patients.

Nicole loves getting to the bottom of a case and finding answers to help pets feel their best! 🐾

We’re so lucky to have Nicole as part of our Lakeview Vets team, caring for your much-loved pets with dedication and expertise. 💚

💙🐾 Big smiles from our big brave boy, Bluey! 🐾💙

Just look at this handsome chap! 😍

Our beautiful big boy Bluey recently popped in to see our lovely vet Nicole to have a wound checked over. His lovely owner decided it was better to be safe than sorry and wanted to make sure his wound was healing well and wasn't going to cause any further problems for this gorgeous boy! 💚

Bluey was an absolute superstar for Nicole and was so brave during his check-up! ⭐️

But we have to admit, it wasn't just Nicole who was smitten with him! Our student nurse Kirsty couldn't resist that big, beautiful smile! 🥰 Although, at his size, we're pretty sure Bluey could have bowled her right over with one enthusiastic hello! 😂🐶 💚

It's always lovely to see our patients getting the care they need, with a little extra love and plenty of cuddles along the way!
