AGGRESSION: dogs are never truly aggressive, they would not choose this option as it is detrimental to their well-being. A dog would only be truly aggressive if it was trained to fight or it felt its life depended on it, aggression is a display of an emotion , most of the time it is telling Dogs, people, to back off . This generally works to their advantage so they do it again and they try it in other scenarios because it worked to their favour. Resource guarding is a contributor to displays of aggression, as the dog truly feels it will not survive without what it is guarding. When people say to me aggression has come out of the blue this is never the case there were early signs. With every aggression case I always see a veterinary perspective, of is the dog in pain. Subtle signs have come before this with pain, maybe not wanting to walk, not wanting to play, or just not wanting to be handled, having paws wiped etc.
Sadly, our dogs are misunderstood Dogs that are just trying to communicate a feeling or emotion. Follow the link to book a 121 consultation.
