We can confirm that our Off-Lead Safe Play is now fully operational again. Storm damaged gate has been secured.

Owing to storm damage, Off-Lead is NOT secure.
The pedestrian gate leading into the field cannot shut, leaving a 10" gap.
We hope to have it repaired today.
We shall, of course, refund any booking fee

You might know that The Kelpies are 30m tall and the largest equine sculptures in the world... but did you know that sculptor Andy Scott used two real Clydesdale Horses called Duke and Baron as his muses? 🐎

This photo shows the three of them pictured standing in front of The Kelpies way back in 2013. Looking at Duke and Baron's shiny manes and gentle eyes, it's easy to see where the inspiration came from - although The Kelpies themselves have a much sleeker look all year round!

Scotland has already introduced fireworks restrictions to help protect animals from the fear, panic, and suffering caused by loud explosions, taking steps toward safer celebrations for pets and wildlife.

In 2022, Scotland passed the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles Act, introducing measures such as firework control zones and tighter controls on when and how fireworks can be used. However, these measures do not amount to a complete nationwide ban.

For animals, fireworks are not a celebration. Sudden explosions can leave dogs trembling, cats hiding in terror, birds disoriented, and wildlife desperately fleeing in search of safety. Some animals may even injure themselves while trying to escape the noise.

These restrictions reflect growing concerns about the impact fireworks can have on animals and communities. Limiting fireworks can help reduce the distress caused by loud, unexpected explosions.

Animals cannot understand why the sky suddenly erupts with deafening bangs. They only feel frightened and confused. Celebrations should bring joy, not fear. Animals deserve peace, safety, and protection from unnecessary suffering.
