3 years ago today we headed to Collessie Feeds for a bag of dog food! We met this guy and that look changed everything. Less than 24 hours later he was home at Balmalcolm and I now buy my dog food elsewhere 🤣

21 years ago a Star was born! Shortly after we were lucky to have the privilege of becoming the proud owners of Star on the left. He is that special horse who just does what is needed without even asking. He had great success in his show time at the highland and other local shows but is now retired and lives an easy life at home. The relationship he has with Blythe is one like no other. The way he looks at me with those gentle eyes knowing I’m a soft touch and will sneak him a treat making him a pro at it! We thought there would be no other horse like him and then along came his wee brother Benji who is now 4. We all know how very lucky we are to have 5 of these gorgeous animals in our lives and are grateful for them every day 💕

Today our field is very quiet, yesterday we had to say goodbye to our old boy Lance, Lance has been with us here at team Balmalcolm for over 30 years, he arrived before the kids and before we had our first Clyde. At a grand old age of 35 you would think it’s easier because they are older and have had a long happy life, that’s just not true it never gets easier. We are privileged to own these beautiful animals and are devastated to say goodbye, sleep easy our old pall we all miss you dearly
