Full-Time Groom
Location: Galcantray Clydesdales, Cawdor, Inverness, Highlands
Salary: DoE
Start Date: 18th August

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time groom to join our team working with our herd of Clydesdale horses. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about heavy horses and is looking to be part of a hardworking and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Daily care and management of Clydesdale horses
• Mucking out, feeding, grooming, and general stable duties
• Preparing horses for shows and events
• Travelling to and assisting at shows and public appearances
• Maintaining clean and safe working environments

Requirements:
• Previous experience working with horses is preferred (experience with heavy horses a bonus)
• Must be available to work weekends and some evenings as required
• Full UK driving licence essential (towing experience advantageous)
• Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
• Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine love of horses

This role involves working outdoors in all weather and being physically fit is important. Travel to events and shows is part of the job, offering the chance to represent our horses to the public and take pride in their care and presentation.

Whilst the rest of us stayed at home to look after the rest of the boys some of the team headed West this weekend to Cambeltown for Largieside ploughing match. Geordie and Jackson as usual were very well behaved and gave it their all coming in first place with Benny and Craig both taking turns on the plough.

Last weekend Blythe and Benji ventured over the road to Howe where they competed in their summer showing show. They competed in hand taking first place, in the ridden heavy horse taking first place and then onto the mixed breed championship coming in champion.

This weekend they will be heading up to Kirriemuir show to compete in hand and bring along Geordie who will be there for the farrier demonstration.
