It has been Charlie and Bugsie, for almost the entire time, I’ve had QBK.
Charlie, a Beagle x and Bugsie, an absolute angel of a dog. Charlie likes to roo. When I mean roo, he really, really loves to roo - tilts his head back and gives it everything he’s got.
Charlie doesn’t need an excuse for a roo - he’d do it whenever the moment took him - even catching his eye and he’d be off, like a roo roo train.
Bugsie would watch on - slightly embarrassed but also hugely supportive to Charlie’s inability to keep quiet. An understanding between them, that only they knew the rules of.
Bugsie was the dependable one - the one that would trot alongside you whilst his brother would hop, skip, jump and roo simultaneously. Charlie would eat his meals in 2 mouthfuls whilst Bugsie would enjoy his meals - appreciating every bite.
I’ve watched Bugsie and Charlie grow older - Bugsie with more salt and pepper on his chin and Charlie just being Charlie - not really aging, not really slowing down and not really being anything other than Charlie.
Bugsie closed his eyes for the final time and was swept up onto the Rainbow Bridge.
He’s left behind a mum and dad who worshiped the ground this gorgeous dog walked on.
He also leaves behind Charlie - and for that, I am so sad, for Charlie depended on his pal for everything.
What I do know is that Bugsie won’t be far from Charlie’s side - he will stay with him, until he greets him over the Bridge. His brother from another mother - his soulmate and his big, best pal.
Bugsie, I loved you with all my heart and I shall miss your sweetness, so very much. You were a one of a kind dog, with a one of a kind heart. ❤️
