My name is Catherine Hoy and my passion is all things furry, scaly and feathery. I have a lifetime of experience working with animals ranging from every day pets to farm animals. My own furs and feathers include a Lurcher X called Jack and a blue merle collie x lurcher called Mabel. I've a herd of 3 guinea pigs, 3 chinchillas, 1 ducks, a flock of very spoilt hens, Mr Mushroom m, Tomlin, Jerry and

Max my beautiful tortoises. Catherine’s Creature Comforts offers outreach sessions to Residential Homes, Homes for the Disabled and Dementia Homes. I also attend schools, youth groups for educational talks and also meet and greet for parties, one to one therapy or family therapy. I aim to inform, educate and inspire pet owners and animal lovers alike about animal behavior, welfare and longevity of owning any pet from a stick insect to a dog! This is a voluntary service. Donations welcome.

Creep - I could think of a better word for a collection of tortoises 🐢. Creep isnt a bad word for them but I honestly think I could do better!

We are all indoors again, the temperature dropped too much and because I bring them in every evening I didn't want the temperature shock to harm them, soooooooo as the 2nd photo will show you, I'm back to avoiding lino mines! Good times folks, good times.

Finding your own routine can be a challenge sometimes. My routine changes with the seasons, sometimes I'm either ahead of myself or behind myself! You know what I mean!
This year, 2026, I feel the most grounded, content, centered, structured that ive ever felt... weird isnt it!
Im taking control and I'm proud of me. Yeepee

My world is the most magical place and I absolutely LOVE it. I have souls here that used to belong to my friends and neighbours, having them call in to see their old souls makes my heart sing.

Jack is a sun baby, he absolutely LOVES basking in the sun 🌞 ☀️
He has been allowed out to do is business and I have bribed him back into the house again! 10mins top is his outside limit.
Of course Laura is the same, shes a lot younger of course however the same rule applies.

As for dogs on the beach ⛱️ 😎 (in this weather) - NO!

Now as for my tortoises 🐢 and Rusty dragon, they are living their best lives. Ask me if they also seek out shade? Yes they do.
They know better than us warm blooded souls do!
Yesterday, when I was doing my 30 min checks on everyone, if my tortoises were in the shade, my checks were done very very quickly and I was back in the house. I followed their lead, if you like.

Madness. Crazy. Couldn't make it up. How is this my life. Dreams do come true.

Dreams do come true, I am living proof.
From I was knee high to a grasshopper (I'm more hip hight nowadays) I knew my soul was destined to be surrounded with animals.
The normal adult question to a child - what do you want to be when you grow up?
Animals. Just animals.
Of course my mammy and daddy knew in their heart of hearts that this was going to happen one way or another.
I done my time in an office, I absolutely LOVED my job.

However, this, my world now, pinch me...
I swear I am alive because of my wonderful world.
These guys keep me young 😊😉 keep me fit and active, keep my brain working and growing...

Dreams, they do come true you know.

I dont know why I call it the human house because there's only 1 human in the house.
2 dogs, a Taz 🦜, 7 shells 🐢 and a dragon 🐉.

Im taking this as a win, they all came to check up on me (not wondering where their porridge surprise is) 😏

Also, my wood pile needs protecting from my goats - they are slowly munching their way through it. Ive given up trying to keep it tidy.
Job 368 added to the list.

Less than a week and they are in the kitchen already! Proof that beaks talk 👄 🤣

7 tortoises are outside, yeepee. Heres to them getting out every day now.
Wednesday (disabled chicken) spent the morning out the front on the grass, he loves it. Rusty the dragon is basking in the window in the back living room, living his best life...
