Catherine's Creature Comforts Catherine’s Creature Comforts. I will bring my animals to residential, disabled and dementia home I also have knowledge and experience with more exotic animals.

My name is Catherine Hoy and my passion is all things furry, scaly and feathery. I have a lifetime of experience working with animals ranging from every day pets to farm animals. My own furs and feathers include a Lurcher X called Jack and a blue merle collie x lurcher called Mabel. I've a herd of 3 guinea pigs, 3 chinchillas, 1 ducks, a flock of very spoilt hens, Mr Mushroom m, Tomlin, Jerry and

Max my beautiful tortoises. Catherine’s Creature Comforts offers outreach sessions to Residential Homes, Homes for the Disabled and Dementia Homes. I also attend schools, youth groups for educational talks and also meet and greet for parties, one to one therapy or family therapy. I aim to inform, educate and inspire pet owners and animal lovers alike about animal behavior, welfare and longevity of owning any pet from a stick insect to a dog! This is a voluntary service. Donations welcome.

My support team 🐶🐕 and my dogness but they take their jobs very seriously indeed.
Well, Laura does anyhow, Jack doesn't support much until around 2pm and then it's supporting a poo movement and deciding which bed to support him for the afternoon.
He does take his goat patrol very seriously and he enjoys it when Casper teases him with a chase around the garden.
My knee hurts just watching this behaviour!

Now my Laura, I just can't express how amazing her soul is. She was sent to me, I know she was, her heart is as big as mine, she wears her scares with pride and strength (like myself) she knows her own mind and is learning how to express herself. Now that's some achievement Laura, I'm only learning that myself... maybe you've taught me!

I am no better than them, my knowledge is as strong as theirs, they help me stay present and focused.

'The only reason they don't talk Catherine is because us humans would make them work'.
Who's more intelligent now?

Tortoise photo shoot didn't happen yesterday. Place your bets for that happening today (I wouldn't place too much tbh) 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢 surprises are the spice of life they say, don't they!

I HAVE GOATS 🐐 🐐

This mornings research.
Goats should only eat things that grow above their shoulders!
They know what poisonous and how to treat it.
They are the most dramatic farm pet 🙄
They are arguably more intelligent than our dogs or in my case me!

I promise I do still have lots of other souls and one to introduce you all too. She's been here ages now, settling of course. She's part of our wonderfully weird family already 🐢.. 7 the number shall be 7 and 7 only. Not 8 and we are past the number 6 now. 7 shall be the shelly number! How have I got 7!
That's tomorrow's story or one for later on today if I'm going to avoid some housework or something... ohhh photo shoot. 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢 yeepee screw you housework, I've a photo shoot to organise (after I do housework and pick up veg, get to the shops, cuddle dogs, goats, turkeys, chickens, get my goose cuddle in and bath a dragon 🐉.

The vet was VERY impressed with Caspers manhood. I swear I saw a tear in the vets eye!

Before we went to the vets we called into my 2nd home, Jollyes Lurgan - The Pet People.
I spend as much money here as I do on rent and I spend probably more relaxing time in the store than I do at home. Jollyes needs to start doing coffees.
All us animal folks could have a social gathering with goats and geese and all sorts....

Gemma did get horned yesterday, I hope you're neck indent is all good today Gemma. Sorry about that. Casper did mean to do that it's the rest of us that's sorry for not protecting you, instead we were watching the vet shove wormer down Caspers throat.
Lesson learnt. Sorry Gemma.

Besotted is an understatement 🐐💛🐐

They come when they are called now, how amazing is that.
I know that every single soul on this planet knows as much as you and me do - it's all relative to our own worlds you see.
We are all experts in our own worlds.
I shouldn't be so surprised when my new additions respond so quickly to my calls!

When 2 worlds come together, I believe it's all about time, patience, respect, food, water, wagging our tongue 👅.
My ways are no better than their ways, we all find the ways that suit us all in our new world.

Now, I hear ya, they are goats Catherine 🐐 go and touch the grass there... I hear ya.....
Let me wallow in my own wee world of happiness and peace and tranquility....

They will be running rings around us all (that's the collective of Derrymore) in no time. I hear ya....

BFL (bird flu lockdown) is actually going OK. I don't want to poke a bear or anything but all my feathers seemed quite happy yesterday. Yeepee.

So today's work will be a constant supply of tea for me whilst I read my book and supervise the new lawn committee. I've suggested they meet in the front garden as there's more to keep everyone happy there!

I absolutely HATE politics....

We have to obey the rules because the alternative isn't worth even thinking about!

Goat gossip - wee Casper put his head into my hand today, just because... no food was in my hand! Yeepee, trust is being gained. He also put his front hoofs onto my back today, he wanted into the chicken house - they aren't allowed chicken food so of course they are trying all the tricks to get into the avery!
Charlie offered me his side when he skipped passed me for a back or belly scratch. Yeepee. Trust. Yeepee. I haven't manhandled them at all, like all the souls that come into my world, freewill is the first rule.

Also... I got a new phone 📱 yeepee I can take photos and videos and everything again. Yeepee
The stress of sorting out my insulin pump app thingiemajig was something else! Old fashioned injections and everything were needed/used. Modern technology has its place, can we please make things easier for the things that keep us alive please. Once my stress levels came down I got it sorted in no time. Glad I didn't overreact or anything hahaha 😅

All for the greater good my boy. And... it wont be long until wee Casper is following your lead!
I did check Casper this morning b4 we left for the vet. I could only see one ball hanging about.
Casper did come to the vet with us.
Well, maybe the stress made the other side drop down or something, Casper now has 2 manly bits that the vet will need to see within 4 weeks I'd say (hes still a wee bit young yet)
They will also be getting wormed and fluked at the end of the month.

Ps my new white leghorn ladies are thriving. They are sooo tame already. My wee precious Pearl (hardly a feather on her) sleeps with Charlie and Casper. Heat is key. She had been sleeping in the house but she has decided to start sleeping outside 😴 (maybe i should do that as well!) Wee pet!

He can say one word in about 25 different tones and emotions.
One word will tell the whole of Derrymore/ Ireland what mood our Taz is in.
One small, 4 lettered word!

I don't say bad words so I dont, sure I don't daddy?!?
I also dont tell lies on the Internet!

He tells me I'm 'such a good boy' all the time! Thanks Taz. He also demands a 'wee scratch' everytime he sees me (which of course I give him). He does his nut if he doesn't get out of his cage for 30 hours per day. He also HATES all females - again not great for my complex there Taz!
He free flys, in doors and out, he is so obsessed with keeping me as HIS slave he wont leave me! Brillant!

You know the way ill say hes just a boy called Jack. I might need to use that line for Taz as well!

Good morning beautiful world.
We have news... mild off the press.

On Thursday evening I had visitors at my door (why didn't I take my phone to get photos) Julie and Gemma (the Jollyes Lurgan - The Pet People ladies) standing with 2 precious wee souls in their arms. Lights and bows around their necks.

OMG - come in quickly and please let me cuddle them babies. Yeepee goats.

Im living too many dreams here, overwhelmed is an understatement. Wow. Just wow.

Everyone meet Casper (smaller boy 9 weeks) and Charlie or Dennis or Henry (can't decide yet) the older boy is 20 weeks. He will be getting a visit from the vet soon to ensure he doesn't have any babies nor starts musting! Poor wee man.
