🐾 Important Update for Our Valued Clients 🐾

We’ve discovered that some of our clients may not have received their pets’ booster reminders recently. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. 💙

We’ve recently moved to a new practice management system, and this change may be the reason some reminders didn’t go out as planned.

If your pet is due (or you’re not sure when they’re due), please give us a call 📞 or send us an email 📧 so we can check their records and make sure everything’s up to date.

Keeping boosters on schedule is an important part of keeping your pets happy and healthy — and we don’t want anyone to miss out! 🐶🐱

🌞🐾 Keeping Your Pets Safe in the Heat! 🐶🐱

Summer is here, and while we love the sunshine, hot weather can be dangerous for our furry friends. Here are some essential tips to help keep your pets safe and cool during the heat:

✅ Hydration is key – Always ensure your pet has access to plenty of fresh, clean water.

✅ Avoid midday walks – Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler. Hot pavement can burn paws!

✅ Never leave pets in parked cars – Even with windows cracked, the temperature can soar within minutes. It’s life-threatening.

✅ Provide shade and ventilation – If your pet is outside, make sure there’s a cool, shaded area and plenty of airflow.

✅ Watch for signs of heatstroke – Excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse are red flags. Call us immediately if you notice these symptoms.

🐾 Bonus Tip: Freeze pet-safe treats or toys for a fun way to help them cool down!

A Huge Thank You from All of Us at Polden Hills Veterinary Centre!

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Veterinary Open Day! It was such a pleasure to open our doors and share what we do with our amazing community — and we’re so grateful for the fantastic turnout.

A special shoutout goes to our brilliant referral partners: Rickard from Kahu, Peri from Periderm, Stewart, Megan and Lucy from Stem Cell and Alex and Amy from Heart Vets — thank you for your support and for being part of the day!

We’re also incredibly grateful for the generous donations towards our raffle — your contributions helped make the event both fun and meaningful. A few winners including the grand prize weren’t around so please expect a call next week!

And of course, thank you to our incredible refreshment partners who kept everyone well-fed and happy: Glastonbury Wood Fired Pizza, Got Buns Hun, Ralph’s Coffee, and Tipsy Moo Ice Cream — you were a big hit!

It was a wonderful day full of learning, laughter, and community spirit thanks to Mel and Jason with the cuddly Newfoundlands, Cossington Community Woods and we can’t forget the wonderful face painters!. Thank you for making it so memorable. We can’t wait to welcome you again soon!

Proceeds will go to natures safe, and we will shortly let you know how much money was raised today 🥰

Lastly, thank you to our team for working the day. It was so nice to see everyone and have a lovely rest of your bank holiday weekend! 🐾🎉
