What an incredible start for this group! In just 3 weeks, every single team has passed Level 1 — a fantastic achievement and a real credit to their hard work, consistency, and teamwork.

It’s been amazing to watch both dogs and handlers grow in confidence week by week, building strong foundations and really starting to trust each other on course. The progress in such a short space of time has been brilliant to see.

Excited to see what comes next as we move on to Level 2! 🐶👏

Phoebe spots a distraction… and chooses her owner instead 👏

That’s the power of focus and engagement training.

This is exactly what we’ll be teaching in this Saturday’s workshop (27th June) 1-1:50pm 🐾

Limited spaces available. Message me to book 💬

A big milestone for Vinnie as he passes Agility Level 1 at A to Z Dog Training 🐾✨

This stage of the programme is designed to introduce structure and build confidence through clear, achievable challenges. Vinnie worked through it with a great attitude, improving with every repetition and showing he’s starting to really understand the game.

It’s not about speed at this point — it’s about precision, communication, and trust between dog and handler. Vinnie delivered all three and earned his place at the next level.

On to Level 2 🐶💪

Most dogs don’t have a training problem.

They have a focus problem.

In real-life environments, distractions beat you for attention — and when that happens, cues don’t land.

That’s why recall, lead walking and obedience feel unreliable outside.

This is what focus and engagement fixes.

I’m running a Focus & Engagement Workshop:

📍 Let Loose Dog Agility Park, Coleraine
📅 Saturday 27th June
⏰ 1:00–1:50pm

Small group session for dogs who struggle around distractions.

If you want a space, message me — there are only a few left.

Imagine if we listened to our dogs as much as we expect them to listen to us.

We ask them to sit, stay, come when called, walk politely, and fit into our busy human world. We expect them to understand our words, routines, and expectations. But how often do we pause to understand theirs?

Dogs are communicating with us all the time. Through their body language, behaviour, energy, and emotions, they tell us when they’re comfortable, worried, excited, overwhelmed, confused, or simply in need of support. The question is: are we listening?

True training isn’t about control—it’s about connection. It’s about building a relationship based on trust, understanding, and clear communication. When we learn to see the world from our dog’s perspective, we become better teachers, better advocates, and better companions.

The strongest partnerships aren’t built on obedience alone. They’re built on mutual understanding.

Because communication is a two-way street. 💜

You know your dog can listen perfectly at home.

Then you step outside and suddenly you’re competing with every smell, dog, person and distraction around you.

If you’ve ever felt invisible on a walk, this workshop is for you.

My Focus & Engagement Workshop on Saturday 27th June is designed to help your dog choose you, even when the environment is far more exciting.

Message me for details and to reserve your space! 💬🐾

Does your dog listen at home… but outside it’s like you don’t exist?

Be honest—does this sound familiar?

* recall disappears the second there are distractions
* your dog ignores you around other dogs
* walks feel stressful instead of enjoyable

If yes, you’re not alone—and you’re not doing anything wrong.

This is almost always a focus and engagement issue, not “bad behaviour”.

I’m running a small Focus & Engagement workshop designed exactly for this stage.

🗓️ Saturday 27th June
🕰️ 1-1:50pm
📍Let Loose Dog Agility Park, Coleraine

We’re working on one thing only:
👉 getting your dog to actually tune into you when the environment is distracting

No pressure. No overwhelm. No complicated theory—just simple, practical exercises you can use straight away on real walks.

The last one sold out quite quickly, so if you’re interested, send me a message or comment “info” and I’ll send details over.
